  1. Just remember that if you upgrade from the 2006 Nav you will no longer be able to enter the cheat and operate it while driving....right?
  2. Interesting...I thought that was just me. I've had the same issue and keep playing with the lumbar support.
  3. Was this a manual or automatic? I just wondered if they improved on the responsiveness of the paddle shifters.
  4. I just drove my first IS 250 rental the other day. No offense to you 250 guys, but I could not believe how slow that thing is. Hard to believe such a hot looking car is such a dog. I guess the 250 guys are laughing at me at the gas pump, however.
  5. That description of ECT mode makes a lot of sense. I just know that the car is SO much more fun to drive in this settting. I've been using it less lately, however, due to concern over increased fuel consumption.
  6. I have been thinking my next ride may be the new Audi A5. Those babies are beautiful! A local dealer got one in and I test drove it the other day. He was extremely excited about pointing out all the features...till he saw my current car (2006 IS 350). I drove it and was incredibly disappointed. Unbelievably sluggish (the 350 would blow it out of the water) and the interior was not nearly as polished. I still want to drive the S5 when it comes out later this year...but we're talking major price jump. Overall, the experience REALLY made me re-appreciate the Lexus. I got back in my 350, turned on Power ECT mode and peeled out of there. B)
  7. I guess that's the beauty of a lease!!! I can save a few bucks with regular and don't have to lie to anyone!
  8. My only complaint is that there is no cosmetic difference between the 250 and the 350. You can't tell what it is until you see the badge on the tail. With BMW for example, you can always tell the faster model because it has dual exhausts. The IS's are identical. As a 350 owner, I wish there was some separation...
  9. I could not get this to work on my 06 IS 350. Has anyone had success with an 06?
  10. Wow - I am having the same problem. Will be waiting anxiously to hear the results of the repair...
  11. I agree... a true change holder would really be nice. Not sure why they didn't install one. I have not had any luck obtaining one.
  12. THAT WORKED!!! THANKS! The dealer had no idea how to make that work...said no one had ever asked them to do that before. I don't understand, though...I would have thought that turning voice command to 'off' would have turned it off! I guess it only turns off the prompt?
  13. There is a setting under voice prompt in the settings menu to turn off the "after the beep, please say a command", you can also turn off the voice confirmation as well, "settng tempature to 70 degrees, hide all icons, ect.". Have you been able to turn this off??? I haven't been able to figure it out but would LOVE to.
  14. I agree! My wife owns an Acura and the voice commands work GREAT...actually an asset to have. It does a great job recognizing commands. In addition, when you press the voice command button, it simply beeps. You don't have to wait for it to say: "after the beep, please say a command". I tried to get the dealer to get rid of this prompt on my Lexus, but they were not able to. Lexus definitely has some work to do on the nav and voice command system. Still drives great, though!
  15. Is that what it does...keep the RPM's higher? I love driving with the power button on because the car is really much more peppy and responsive.
  16. Just got my new pads today...bye bye brake dust...hello squeaky brakes! (or so they tell me). How is everyone else liking the ceramics so far?
  17. I have a 2006 IS 350 and have a few techincal questions: 1) How do you watch a DVD? When I put one in, nothing seems to happen. 2) With voice control, is there any way to program the car to simply beep and not ALWAYS say "Please enter a voice command after the beep." ? 3) Has anyone reprogrammed their car so that ALL of the doors unlock when you approach with the SmartKey? THANKS!!!
