  1. Yes, just soldered on stock connector. Hi, I was reading thru the posts and 'cause I have the same problem with my '02 LS 430 UL, I would like to know how did you connect the two 4 ohm coils. Was that in parallel, that would give you 2 ohm impedence across. There are dual 2 ohm coil woofers available too, could they be used? thanks for your input.   2. I agree that is most likely moisture in the exhaust. An easy check might be to bypass the air control valve by disconnecting the vacuum lines at the front of the manifold and plugging them (takes two minutes). I did this 6 months ago to end my problem of losing power steering fluid. It is still bypassed and I haven't noticed any difference in the way it drives. Good Luck.

  4. EXCUSE me - it was just a suggestion. My bad, I wasn't trying to be rude or anything. I just don't like ordering from ebay anymore. Be careful when replacing the stock subwoofer, mine was a pioneer 2 ohm speaker. Unless you want to change out the amp too, 8" 2 ohm subwoofers are all but impossible to find. You can wire a 4 ohm dual voice coil into a 2 ohm configuration. That's what I did with this speaker, http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/products...eries/db804dvc/, I bought mine online at www.cardomain.com, and paid about $80. It fit pretty well after bending back the lip of the rear dash hole with a crescent wrench. Good Luck!
  5. Back to that tapping sound, I had that same problem after replacing my timing belt, except mine was on the drivers’ side. I thought it sounded like it was coming from the distributor rotor or possibly that tab on the cam pulley hitting the cam position sensor. I was a little depressed with the notion of having to tear it all apart again or the damage of some expensive Lexus part, so it sat for two days. It turned out to be simply the rubber gasket of the timing belt cover hanging loose and being hit by the cam pulley tab. A little weather strip adhesive made sure it wouldn’t happen again. Fixed in less than 15 minutes. :)
