  1. Actually, that isn't a dumb question at all. I checked the same thing, and I don't have any. At least it isn't warning me that I have them. At work, I actually have to delete files and cookies once a week due to one of my distributors website. They're website design (Online Store) is pretty ridiculous, and once you've visited the site so many times, you can no longer go "back." Thanks for trying though man. It's kind of puzzling to me.
  2. Do an oil change on your car. Drain the oil and see if it's frothy, and smells like coolant. Or if you can get a good enough look at it under your oil cap, go for it. It almost sounds like head gasket is starting to go between. That could explain the white smoke. The oil on your plugs (if I read it right) sounds like the valve cover gasket.
  3. Yeah, this is the only site that I have it happen. I'm sure the problem is with me, I just found it weird that it happens at both work, and home.
  4. Yeah, I read the same thing after I posted it. Although, if it was going to be made, it's pretty incredible.
  5. It's pretty much everyday. It happened 3 times today, but when I posted ^ that post, it didn't do it. (of course) Basically, after I post, I'll click on another link, to another post to read it, and the server will either time out, or it will sit there for a minute or two, then it slowly gets faster and faster. The more I click on, the faster the server response gets. As an example, I posted in General Discussion, once it posted, I went to read the next thread, and the server timed out, then I refreshed, and clicked on the post again, after about 2 minutes it finally popped up. I clicked on reply, after about 30 seconds it popped up, then I posted and it posted instantly, then did it again on the next click. It's kind of weird, I've never experienced it on any other forums other than this.
  6. It seems like everytime I post on LOC, the forum won't respond for the next minute or so. It happens at home, and at work. And I wasn't sure if it's like that just for me, or for everyone. I don't see HOW I could be causing this problem, but it ONLY happens right after I post.
  7. Same here. Seafoam is great stuff. My Dad and Grandpa swear by this IXL stuff, but I honestly don't want to rely on ANY additive. I run Amsoil, and always will. It's proven to me many times that it's worth running in all my cars.
  8. This doesn't surprise me. What really bothers me about this whole thing, is how most people at car dealerships act. Most of them act shocked when you ask a question. Like you're not supposed to talk, just put money in their hand so they can go search out their next kill, and quite a few of them aren't knowledgeable at all. I'm really glad that there are dealerships out there that act as they should. Customer Service is what should drive the world. Too many businesses out there that don't care if you drop dead in their waiting room. They just look for the next buck. I have yet to be satisfied walking out of a Lexus dealership. The best experience I had was at a KIA dealership.
  9. I am so in love with my SC. I wouldn't sell it for anything. A few months ago, I thought about selling it to buy an EVO, but I couldn't do it. I beat myself up pretty bad for how close I got to selling it. Never again though.
  10. GNX. No other name in automotive history says "80's Supercar" like those three letters. Now the legend is back. Buicks 2007 GNX is a modern-day incarnation of classic street performance. When you turn the key and hear the throaty dual exhausts announcing the Twin Turbo 3.6L V-6, you'll know you have your hands full. Compared to its '80s namesake, the new GNX sports a suspension that is tighter, an engine that's more powerful and a manual transmission that now boasts two additional gears. The car will hit 60 mph (97 km/h) in about four-and-a-half seconds, and run the quarter mile in under 13 seconds. There's nothing like it in its class. Total performance The completely new GNX isn't just about horsepower, of course. Its unique personality includes impressive cornering abilities, a smooth ride and surprising comfort. But the heart of the GNX is indeed a truly awesome Twin Turbo and Intercooled 3.6l V-6 engine, also known as the base powerplant for the Buick Velite Concept. The GNX produces an estimated 450 horsepower and with 465 lb.-ft. of torque, it has no problem leaving a stop with purpose. Eighteen-inch alloy wheels and performance tires are matched to a fully independent, performance-tuned suspension featuring direct-acting stabilizing bars and power rack-and-pinion steering. Traction control and a limited slip differentials also come standard. And, today's GNX revs through six forward speeds with the close-ratio manual transmission, or you can choose a six-speed Hydra-Matic. Both come with a 3.46:1 final drive ratio. Performance-oriented interior The GNX is, first and foremost, a driver's car. Every detail, from the satin-finish steering wheel to the race-inspired metallic pedals, gives the driver a sense of performance from the moment the car is entered. The standard feature list starts off with leather 2+2 bucket seats, in black -color-coordinated with the vehicle's exterior color. The high-tech seats provide lateral support, wrapping around the driver and front passenger and complementing the great handling characteristics of the chassis. Also standard is a six-disc CD-changer with premium 10-speaker sound system, cruise control, a multi-function driver information center, keyless entry system and a host of other features to enhance the driving experience. Sensuous design Rather than create an imitation of the original legend, the 2007 GNX provides a contemporary interpretation of the classic buick sports coupe. The distinctive, tautly stretched exterior, aggressive lowered stance and sleek, simple form all help express the clean, athletic styling direction of Buick. Add this to the obvious performance of the vehicle and you have a rear-wheel-drive TT+I V-6-powered premium sports coupe wrapped in a seamless, modern design. Safety and quality Bringing the GNX to a safe stop is accomplished through standard four-wheel disc brakes (ventilated front, solid rear), part of a four-channel anti-lock braking system. Other standard safety features include dual front air bags, three-point safety belts for all occupants and an Emergency Mode that automatically shuts down the engine, turns off the fuel pump, unlocks the doors and turns on the dome light any time the air-bag system is deployed. Production of the 2007 Buick GNX will begin in September 2006 at Holden's award-winning Elizabeth plant in Australia using the latest techniques to ensure both measurable and "perceived" quality. Projected annual production will be 18,000 vehicles. General Information Price: $38,500 Miles Per Gallon: 17/25 mpg Curb Weight: 3698 lbs Layout: Front-Engine/AWD Transmission: 6-Speed Manual Engine Type: DOHC V6 Displacement: 3600 cc Horsepower: 450 bhp @ 5200 rpm Torque: 465 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm Redline: 6500 rpm Performance 0-60 mph: 4.2 sec 0-100 mph: 10.2 sec Quarter Mile: 12.8 sec @ 112.5 mph Skidpad: .96g Top Speed: 179 mph Braking, 60-0 mph: 115 ft Slalom Speed: 66.4 mph I am thoroughly impressed. If this turns out to be real, there will definitely be one in my driveway. Although, this just gives more proof that the Corvette is going to be pushed further into the 'Supercar' market very soon. With the GTO, V-series, and GNX it would be absolutely pointless to keep the Corvette how it is now. I'm sure it will be pushed very high in Horsepower, and the price tag will jump over the $100K mark.
  11. If it's smoking, I would say that it's probably burning oil somewhere. If something needs to be replaced, or rebuilt it should be done. Even if it's expensive. There could be other things, but if multiple mechanics are saying the same thing, and they've done diagnostics to figure this out. I would have to say go with what they suggest.
  12. Well, I'm new to the 1J thing, but I don't think it is. Because the 1J has the two turbos facing away, there's pipes that go from each of the housings, then join, and meet the Downpipe. So if you replace everything up to the downpipe, there's still more that hasn't been replaced. That's what the black pipes are in the picture. From what I've heard, there's really no point in replacing them, since they're basically 2.5" already. We're trying to make our own in 3" but we're worried about cross turbulence from one turbo to another. Basically with 3" there isn't enough room to keep them seperate pipes as far as you can with 2.5". That's why I was trying to find out if anyone has replaced theirs, or knows of someone who has. I know Rush (The people I stole the picture from) make some, and they're 2.5", but they're like somewhere around $500-700. I'll try Clublexus though, thanks.
  13. We use DEI here, well... We did. We installed one, and refuse to do anymore. I'm sure on older cars, or someone that has more experience it's easier, but our first car was a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. Never again... Never. It was a nightmare with all the Immobilizer crap. DEI is a great brand though, from what I know.
  14. TAP would be a good source, but I don't think they have anything right now. Or they didn't. I called a couple months ago looking for the same thing, and I don't think they had anything.
  15. You can do anything that you could do with any other car, for the most part. You can either custom make anything, or find ways to make existing things better. There is some aftermarket support. So bodykits, intake, exhaust, engine swaps, turbo, suspension, brakes, interior, lighting, wheels, anything.
  16. I just replaced all of mine. If I remember right, the Sub is a 10, and it's in the rear deck, along with 2 4 1/2" speakers. The doors are 4 1/2" also, and the tweeters are tiny things by the side view mirrors. It's going to be custom replacing pretty much all of them. I had 4 1/2" speakers that wouldn't fit into anything, so I just ground the crap out of the mounting, and built new mounts for 5" in the doors, 6" in the rear deck. The only thing that fit perfect was the sub. An Orion XTR 10" sub fits almost perfect. Building a box around it on the underside is another story. We also took out my factory changer, and amps, and built a little amp rack in the place where those are. Then just build a frame, and put carpet over the whole thing, with computer fans powered off the antenna. When it sees power, the fans turn on. One pushes, and one pulls. There is zero air flow in the trunk, and my two amps were overheating. As for what it looks like, you can't tell it from stock (if you hadn't seen one before) Obviously there is no changer there, and there is a little bulge where it used to be, but it looks stock to someone that wouldn't know. Hopefully that info helps.
  17. If my car is locked with the windows down, and someone unlocks the door without the key, the alarm goes off. If someone breaks the glass, I doubt it will go off. I don't think vehicles back then came with glass sensors, or shock sensors either. So if someone hits it no, if they break the glass no, but I know they can't get in your car (without climbing through the window) and start it.
  18. I always just arm mine by hitting the button AFTER I close the door. The little alarm light comes on, and I get that warm tingly feeling inside. And I think the only way to disarm mine if it goes off, is to stick the key in the door.
  19. Yeah, 95 was the last year of the 302 in the mustang, if I remember correctly.
  20. Bump I'm not going to let this get burried. "I want to ask you a bunch of questions, and I want to have them answered immediately." C'mon guys, if it's a stupid question lay it on me, anything. At least tell me that I'm an idiot, and I should know this already. I thought for SURE someone on here had a Soarer.
  21. Next time you get into your car, try turning the temperature knob slowly up and down. It should switch from recirculate to fresh air on it's own. In mine, when I start the car it's on recirculate, if I turn the knob to what temperature it is outside, it will turn to fresh air. Give it a try, if it does it, it's normal.
  22. I thought for sure there were a couple JZZ30's on here.. Maybe I called it the wrong thing? ANY help would be appreciated. This is what I'm talking about
  23. I use a Mac Mentor. It's like a giant Gameboy that tells me what I want to know. Really incredible tool. Along with a 5 gas analyzer it will pretty much tell you anything. The only problem is, they're like $5,000. Not really for personal use I guess.
