  1. That's correct, if you push that SAT button and it stay's on AM, the tuner is not installed. The dealer will probably charge you north of $700 dollars to purchase and install the unit, or you could purchase it from one of the many online dealers (such as Sewell in Texas) for around $300.00 and install it yourself. It's actually quite easy to install as the units come with step-by-step instructions, it should take about 2 hours for a first timer.
  2. No offense to anyone, of course, but I think that honor would fall to beige or some shades of grey. But, I guess I'm partial, my GS is silver :)
  3. It's kind of funny that one of the easiest to maintain colors is under thread from one of the worse. I personally love black cars, but, I'll never buy another one :)
  4. A couple of things about black cars, and Lexus black in particular. One, avoid the automatic car washes at all costs, as they will scratch the heck out of the paint. Two, don't ever let the dealer wash your car either (ask me how I know) :). Three, if you haven't already, I'd recommend getting a clear-bra put on the front as the paint is very soft and chips very easily. As for maintaining the finish, I just used Meguiers Wax every couple of weeks, but I'm sure there are other more qualified people who can answer that question. I love black cars, but never again. Best of luck with the new car!
  5. On the drivers door handle, there is a small flap that opens up to reveal the key lock to open the car if the battery is dead.
  6. Hi Jim, The 2006 model's do have a few recalls/tsbs that should be addressed if you do go ahead with the purchase, you can find out which are outstanding by entering the VIN into the Lexus website or contacting your local dealer. The only other things I can think of specific to that year would be to check under the floor mats for moister, as there was a problem with the A/C drain becoming clogged and leaking water into the cabin. Of course, the usual used car caveats apply here as well, especially since this car is past its factory warranty period. Make sure the tires are good, and check to see if they are summer only - if so, and you are planning on driving it in the winter, plan on getting a set of snow tires. Check the brake pads, as brake jobs on these cars can be expensive, unless you are a DIY'er. We put 80,000 miles on our 07 IS350 before getting rid of it a couple of months ago and it was trouble free. Good luck with the search.
  7. Absolutely! About the only thing I’d miss would be the memory seats, but that’s only because when my wife drives our IS, I can’t even get in the car without adjusting the seat (I’m 6’5, shes not :) ). The only other issue may be the Navigation CD, will your broker install the correct Sweden map disk? Not sure about the HID 22/24.
  8. Yes, those are the 18-in wheels, so your summary would be correct. As for the keyless entry, that is a standard feature on all US spec IS's. Basically, the car will be missing the memory seats, power steering column, auto-dimming mirrors, power rear sunshade, lighted scuff plates and the automatic wipers from the Lux package. It may or may not have HID lights as this is a stand-alone option as well.
  9. Looks like the premium package with Navigation, which would include wood interior and heated/cooled fronts seats if memory serves. This would include power seats, but would not include the memory option. Good luck with the purchase!
  10. I've been running it for a couple of months now (we're a MS partner) and it seems fine, it hasn't crashed yet. The only problem that you might run into is hardware compatibility - check to make sure all of your hardware has Vista/7 drivers available, especially printers/scanner/etc. Oh, and make sure you have a lot of RAM. Good luck!
