welcome barry, it is a common egr issue, you need to replace the mushroom valve, if you open the hood and look at the intake manifold it is a small mushroom looking device on the drivers side, they cost about $60-$80 to buy and its just a a couple of small hoses and bolting the new one in. do a search of this site and it may yield a picture or check lexls.com, they may have a tutorial on the subject. Just bought a beautiful '91 with 121k that has been garaged and dealer maintained her whole life! Bought her needing new tires and needing an "emission sensor". Dealer quoted the fix at $500. I bought a scanner and found it has a Code 71 EGR error. Anyone had this problem before? Did anyone swap the valve along with the pressure and temperature sensors? Any help would be appreciated. My "new" 91 has recruited me as a lifetime member of the Lexus club!!! Thanks Barry
