Take your time, if you're not in a hurry. You will find your LX. After we bought my wife's LX ('98), I fell in love with it. When I needed another vehicle a couple years later, I bought a used Land Cruiser. The LC ('99) is nice, but it's not as nice as our LX. I rushed the deal, hearing all the claims from the seller about how clean it was. Short story is I never saw the truck (I let my wife take a look) before I bought it. When I got it home and actually inspected it, there were quit a few things that would have kept me from buying it. Interior was shot and I found an area that had some body work. So learn from my mistake, take your time. It will pay dividends!

Aren't the '98 - '04 TLC's and LX470's UZJ100's vs. FJ100's? I think it has to do with the engine (2UZ-FE-type V8 4.7-litre).

Dunno, try the LS400 board. Haven't had this problem with my LX470. :whistles:

Yep, it's true. Both the LX470 and Land Cruiser require Premium. As if the mileage wasn't hard enough to deal with, they had to add this kicker!

I bought an LX470 for my wife a few years back and fell in love with it. So I sold my F150 and bought a '99 Land Cruiser about eight months later. I still like the LX better though, the LC nice but not as quiet or smooth. I really don't think you could go wrong with either, they are still head and shoulders above anything else, IMHO. :D

I don't think it has anything to do with the suspension. I have a 98LX470 and and 99 Land Cruiser and they both have the box. It looks to me like it's simply a shield for the washer fluid resevoir. Could the running fan have been your normal cooling system fans?

BTW, I got the same error and the shop from the link above fixed it. They are local for me so I didn't have to ship it.
