  1. Mine get waxed about every 6 to 8 months and the paint looks great.
  2. Nope, quite the opposite. My '98 LX and '99 Land Cruiser's paint still looks new. Maybe if it's under a cover a lot, you've got some oxidation? Find a good detailer and see if they can buff it out.
  3. Also, FYI it's hydraulic not pneumatic. And, JDM just means Japanese Domestic Market. Cheers!
  4. I just got off the phone from Lexus Annapolis and was told that there would be virtually no change to the LX470 for the next two years.Except maybe a tailight. There is a new Land cruiser coming out. I don't know if it is in addition to the current one, or a separate version. it is modelled after the old ones with the whilte roofs/ You're referring to the FJ Cruiser. It's Toyota's new retro vehicle that they claim is based on Land Cruiser heritage. It's more based on competing with the Nissan Xterra. It's built on the 4Runner platform (which is the Land Cruiser Prado platform, which the GX uses as well). I like it, looks pretty cool. http://www.toyota.com/vehicles/future/fjcr...GM_TN_FUTURE_FJ
  5. I'd like to have the ambulance doors that are available on the 100's sold internationally.
  6. I would seriously doubt it. I don't have an 80, but the 3rd rows that I've seen don't even look close to the 100.

  8. Yes, it does keep the rear window clean. My wifes LX (UZJ100) doesn't have the spoiler and my Toyota UZJ100 has it. My window stays cleaner much, much longer than hers.
  9. Actually, the speed at which the suspension will go back to neutral is around 15-18 MPH. Take a look at the fluid for the hight control to see if it has been contaminated. The resevoir is located in the engine compartment forward of the passenger seat. I've heard reports of people mistaking this for a washer fluid resevoir and pouring wiper fluid into it. The vehicle should be in good condition at that mileage, the 90k service will be due soon. Depending on who you have do it, it will run around $1-2K. If it were me, I would check with Lexus to see if you can get any maintenance records, Lexus keeps them for all vehicles regardless of which dealer did the service. This will give you an indication of how well it was maintained.
  10. I assume you talking about replacing the lights inside the tailgate, not on the outer rear quarter panels. After you lower the gate, use a flat head screwdriver wrapped in masking tape (to prevent scratches) and pry a little at a time so you can see where the clips are. After you pop the first clip with the screwdriver, use your fingers and the screwdriver to pop the rest. Just make sure that you pry as close as possible to each clip to prevent damaging the panel. It comes off very easily.

  12. This might b stupid...but how do I make sure this is not on/engaged? ← The CDL switch is located to the left of the climate controls. It looks like the wheels, two axles and drive shafts. If it's engaged, you would see a matching light on the bottom of your instrument panel. The CDL locks the transfer case and sends equal power to front differential and the rear differential.
  13. Tried it with the AC off...Noise is still present. ← Ok, are you sure the CDL is off? If you are not sure what that is, it's the center differential lock and it should not be engaged. It should only be used offroad on dirt or loose gravel and when traveling very slow.
  14. It could be the compressor. Try turning the A/C off, if the noise is still there then it's no that. That's my first guess.
