  1. i have the tanabe medallion on my 02 gs300. i am pleased with the sound. there is a noticeable difference under acceleration, but on the highway cruising, the sound is minimal. i am most pleased with the performance gain i got from the system along with the srt intake i have installed. i also installed a different b-pipe, so my overall performance differances will differ from yours.
  2. dcfish, what type of inline filter are you referring too. is that similar to a remote oil filter type of deal? could you explain please. thanks.
  3. my 02 300 has 148K and i routinely get 400 miles on 16+ plus gallons. I drive 112 miles a day for work and some city driving.
  4. I have an 02 gs300 with these tires and they have been the best set of tires I have owned. No problems whatsoever. 48K miles on them with at least another 10K to go. Perform beautifully wet or dry. Not sure about snow; doesn't snow much in texas. Well worth the money.
  5. How much did you spend for those ( three toghether) ? wanna put those on my GS D. C. - The intake was $600, B-pipe was $140, and tanabe medallion touring exhaust sys was $800. I bought the intake and ecu through swift racing at www.swiftracing.com and the b-pipe and exhaust sys through driven by style (megan racing products) at www.drivenbystyle.com. Kind of pricey, but IMHO worth the money. I bought the intake first and the exhaust sys at a later time. Once the exhaust was installed, overall perfomance was greatly increased. I dont have access to a dyno, but by my seat of the pants testing, there is a very noticeable difference in performance with all three working together. All very easy to install. Read the installation instructions for the intake and ECU very carefully though. Enjoy!
  6. Hey ya'll, I installed a tanabe medallion touring cat back system along with a megan racing b-pipe on my 02 300 about a week ago and I have to tell ya I am impressed with the overall performance. Noticeable change is the increased throttle response and improved acceleration at all speeds. While cruising at 70 mph, my rpms are reduced by about 100. It appears gas mileage will be a little better. Will know more as I drive the car more. Noise level inside is noticeable under acceleration, but neglible when cruising at hwy speed. Anyway, for what its worth and if anyone was considering this upgrade, I would recommend it. See ya. I don't want to mislead anyone, so I should add I have a SRT intake with ECU installed as well. The three together provide for much improved performance. Thanks.
  7. Michelin is a good bet. I have a set of Pilot Exalto A/S on my 02 GS and I am very satisfied with them. About 42,000 on these so far and still have plenty of tread left and they still ride and handle great. Good luck.
  8. thanks skp. replaced the maf. very little lag time and much better throttle response. :)
  9. How many miles on the GS ? Have you ever cleaned the TB ? Check for any vaccum leaks, Does it idle normal ? it has 134,000. i cleaned the tb when i installed the SRT intake and ecu about 10,000 miles ago; i hope that is not the problem. i haven't checked for vacuum leaks and it idles normally. i will check the vacuum leaks tonigt. checked for any vacuum leaks, could not find anything.

  11. hello all, here recently i have noticed on acceleration the engine tends to bog down or stumble when the throttle is depressed about a third of the way. it is really noticeable after being at highway speeds then exiting and trying to accelerate from a near complete stop. i have repair manuals and i have checked the MAF, throttle body motor, and tps for resistance checks and they are good. there are no codes present. i dont have a lexus hand held tool, so a lot of the checks in the manual i can not do. does anyone have any thoughts? thanks in advance.
  12. actually read it and you'll understand...pics there just to give you a visual http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f202/big-thr...-how-to-321330/ good read, that makes perfect sense. appreciate it.
  13. welcome but this isn't really just a audio upgrade....everyone's car can get some form of help with better grounding. or he could do a big three upgrade. okay you got my curiosity up, what is a big three upgrade?
  14. its just a grounding system....they work well when hooked up to best spots and when i had my Honda i fooled around on the dyno to find the best spots as the ones they recommended worked but i wanted to see if i could extract extra from it. and you REALLY wont notice the increase in hp, torque or throttle response. i mean its really not substantial. i might go back to one since I'm doing my audio build for better grounding thanks for the info. i figured as much. i think i will pass. i still have the stock audio system and no plans to upgrade.
  15. On the l-tuned website there is MR hyper voltage system listed that states it will increase hp, torque, throttle response, etc... Anyone have any experience with this product? Thanks for the help.
