  1. Actually, this is for my wife who has an 02 Acura MDX with 185K miles on it. I am definitely keeping my ES350 for several more years, but I think my next car will be a hybrid-- its just the right thing to do! Does the price of a hybrid fluctuate with the price of gas?
  2. I own an ES350 and love it and now I'm in the market for a RX450h. I would like to know what people are paying for a new car with a GPS (premium package). If anyone feels they got an awesome deal, it would be great to be able to bring that to the table. Thanx so much.
  3. yes there is a way! it involves removing the entire nav unit, splicing a wire and adding a switch. i did it myself and it works fine. the instructions are available if you surf this site. good luck!
  4. i can access the override menu and it works great for the navigation grayouts, but not the bluetooth. i may have to install a switch to disable the speed sensor. thanks for your help.
  5. Does anyone know if there is an override protocol for the Bluetooth screen. It would be nice to be able to dial on the touch screen while driving or press the # key skip voice mail greeting. The override to input information into the GPS while driving does not work for the Bluetooth. I'd really like to know if its out there. I have an 07 ES350. Thanks!
  6. FWIW, Bose speakers in automotive applications are engineered and tuned for whatever particular vehicle they are installed in, just as the Mark Levinson system is tuned just for the specific Lexus model. Because the interior environment of each vehicle body is different, simply putting Bose speakers in your ES will not make it sound like your old Maxima. I think the ML system is outstanding personally, but I guess that is just my prefernce. My guess is that it will not be as easy as swapping one speaker for another because of the electronics behind both the Bose and ML systems. I know this is a dumb question but, have to tried adjusting the tone controls and such for your system? Just as a note of disclosure, I am not a fan of Bose products, but I do think their automotive applications are pretty good, especially in the Maxima. However, I think the Levinson system is a cut above. ok, i realize that the ML is a premium system and possibly a step up from bose. however, i get minimal to no bass on sound levels less than around 30 and the system doesnt truely sound ballanced ( to my ears ) until 40. that is quite loud but frequently the level i listen to anyway. but if my wife or kids are in the car and i have the souind level at 20 or so, it is flat as hell!!! i figure some bose speakers would add the oomph that i need eventho the system might not be properly balanced. yes, i have adjusted the tone controls and that did help a little.
  7. I got my 10,000 mile oil change at the dealer and it cost $260(!!!) My 15,000 mile oilchange I went to Jiffy Lube! There was no problem.
  8. Hi All, I've had my ES350 since October 2006 and I still miss my Bose stereo from my old Maxima. Does anyone know if I can replace some of my Mark Lev speakers with Bose speakers purchased off EBay? I would replace the door woofers with 6.5" Bose cones and maybe a 6X9" as well. My question is would they fit??? Are they different depths? I'm sure I could go to a high car audio place and they could fudge it a little, but does anyone know anything about it? The Bose speakers come with a built in amp, do the ML speakers have the same thing? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
  9. i have had 2 LG phones and both have excellent quality (even with the sunroof open) and no time delay. its probably a problem wiht the unit.
  10. yes, i miss my Bose!!! would swapping out the subwoofer for a Bose subwoofer help at all? I've been contemplating looking into it. Or is it more dependent on the bass output from the receiver / amp?
  11. Alan, thanks for the info! I have to say that still disagree and think there is an tone quality increase wit the increase in speed wiht the ASL on. Again, thanks, Jon
  12. I have the ML package and I can tell you it's the best automobile stereo experience I've ever had, including bass. I have a particular CD that has a pounding bass that I never heard on my home entertainment system but it absolutely vibrates through me in my ES 350. Perhaps a manual adjustment. BTW, does the NAV in your car display Saudi maps and location content? Just wondering. I seem to have the same problem!! My music sounds flat and dull, especially at lower sound levels. I was thinking I would try to compare my car with another ML system to see if there is a problem and then have the dealer run a diagnostic. I guess thats not so easy to do in Saudi Arabia?!? Would swapping out the subwoofer correct the problem? My Bose system in my old Maxima was much better.
  13. I know that this is what they say in the blurbs about the features in the ML System, but you should also realize that this copy is written by advertising agency people to impress the majority, and not directed to audio people who understand a bit more about the nuances of circuit design. In other words....they might be oversimplifying the true operation of ASL. I will try to contact some of my friends who actually designed the circuits in the ML system soon and then report back. Thank you very much for your efforts. It seems to me that if I turn off the ASL while going 60 mph and and simply increase the volume, the music continues to sound flat and dull as opposed to sounding rich and full with the ASL on at a lower volume. I would like to know what you find and if anything can be done to modify it.
  14. Yes, I've tried that and still can not get the sound as when the ASL is on at higher speeds.
  15. I paid alot of $$$ for my Mark Levinson system in my 07 ES350. It has a feature which I hate and I'm looking for a fix. ASL stands for automatic sound leveler and it changes the internal equilizer settings of the system according to the speed of the car. On the highway, the music sounds rich and full. But slow down and come to a stop, the music becomes flat and sounds like its coming out of a cheap stereo. If I turn off the ASL, the music always sounds like crap! Does anyone know of a way to trick the ASL sensor into always thinking I'm going 70 mph? Had I known about this feature, I would have bought a cheaper version of the car and had a Bose system installed later! Please help!!!!!
