  1. I have a strange sound occasionally in that area too. more like coolant with bubbles in it but can never get the bubbles out. doesnt happen every day only sometimes. i hope someone has an answer
  2. draining the transmission and replacing the filter is the best way to go, simple for a garage and the dealer but they prefer not to do it as it creates more sales and visits to the service center. find a garage who will drop the transmission pan, replace the filter (genuine Toyota parts) and clean the sludge out of the pan. Just flushing it at Valvoline doesn't cut it. Change all the gear oil and transfer cases too. It'll last much longer 242,000 miles on my 1999 RX300, change the fluids
  3. After replacing all 4 struts on my 99RX300, strut mounts, and bearings too I'm having strange reaction to handling. If I make a left turn and then straighten out to drive it pulls to the left. When I make right turn and straighten out to drive, it pulls to the right. If I stop and over correct the wheel it will drive without pulling. According to the alignment at the local shop (not dealer) it is within standards, however after taking it apart several times to confirm everything is indexed correctly it still pulls. tried rotating tires. Prior to changing it drove perfectly with 240,000 miles. Local shop mentioned "memory steer" but I can't find anything regarding this condition. Has anyone had this issue?
  4. My driver side is begining to do the same. 235k miles. only happens on bumps
  5. I've replaced 2 of them due to my own negligence. push the plastic line into the motor and press the off button on the radio to retract the antenae. It may take a time ro two to get it right, if the motor is not operating, you most likely have done it but check you connections and alway the fuse. You may have grounded the motor with the key on.
  6. I'm looking at replacing struts all the way around my RX300. Most online retailers are carrying KYB or Monroe Struts. Does anyone have an opinion for their quality and durability? I'm a Realtor so I live in my car. 225,000 and still going, no major problems. Thanks in Advance!
  7. LOL, I get emails regarding new posts here but that was one I had to read. Very funny! What caused the failure? high cholesterol from fatty transmission fluids?
  8. <_< Use a dog! sorry I couldn't resist
  9. the leather is worn through at this point. I had heard of the ability to fix and build it to new with certain polymers or compounds. I dont recall where I read it. I have had the unfortunte experrience pulling a steering wheel off another make and it didnt go well. :)
  10. My steering wheel is very worn, 215,000 miles :o and it needs to be recovered or replaced. Has anyone replaced or found a great option for a covering that actually matches?
  11. Have a RX 300 1999, 215,000 miles, no major problems. replaced thermostat, front exhaust tbing (strange part), some sensors, and routine maint every 3000-5000 miles. getting ready to replace rotors, they have finally warped after 3 or 4 sets of pads as a Realtor, I live in my car.
  12. Is anyone still getting a response from the originator of this thread? I am looking for a copy of the elctrical diagram. HELP?
  13. I need a copy please, this appears to be a common item. Both washer fluids delivery systems have ceased to operate. I'll take a copy of all the wiring diagrams you have. Please email a copy to me adam@adamborders.com. Thanks
