I bought these Intrax lowering springs for my 2004 Lexus ES330 and never installed them. I just sold the car and have no need for these. The box was opened only to take pictures of the springs. These springs are supposed to maintain Lexus' ride. I paid around $275.00 for these in 2005/2006. They might also fit the ES300, but it's up to you to contact the manufacturer or installer to verify your application. These will lower the front by 1.8" and the rear by 1.6". I'm sure all of your warnings didn't mean a thing to him since he decided to do what he wanted to. So are the washers really that unsafe? Well, I wish a High School friend was here to hear your warnings as it could have prevented his fatal mistake.

The Driver Door has a blue-yellow (solid blue with yellow stripe) wire and a solid yellow wire that may control the beeping sound when disconnected. This is on a 20 pin connector located in the drivers kick panel. There may be other side effects of disconnecting the wire as I haven'tr tried it yet. Any side effects of tampering with the wiring is your responsibility.

I'm thinking of a few different ones like the ones below: I know these may not be the name brands, but I plan on a new set every tire change as long as I keep this car. What do you guys think? Are there any other models that may look nice on the 04? The 05 wheels are nice, but I'm thinking of a little more different. Since purchase last year, I've logged over 30,000 miles on my car and plan on a set of tires and wheels every 1 to 1.5 years.

Here's a picture of my car. I removed these wheels after 5 days of driving them since the car does not track straight. We tracked the problem to the wheels by a process of elimination. I may have to go to painted 17" or 18" painted wheels to prevent tracking issues.

I bought 225/55r17's with the new wheels for my 04 ES330 and love the soft ride! They are extremely quiet, but H rating is a little too soft for me. I am unfortunately having issues with the wheels tracking straight and will need to replace the wheels and tires. I tracked the tracking issue to the wheels and not tires by driving on Dunlop sport A2's for a week prior. Comfortreds and Helo Tease Wheels:

I noticed that the Leuxs Nav has an IP address for the Sirius tuner. I heard from a service provider that Lexus is negotiating a satellite radio contract like Honda has. I hope they do add Sirius!

I've heard both XM and Sirius. I only went for the XM because of the integration. Less clutter to mess with. I'll add a Sirius tuner to my other cars and make it plug-n-play and place into the aux in on the head unit in the ES.

I was pondering the same as you before I bought my ES. The IS has a bunch of neat aftermarket stuff while the ES is one tough car to find parts for. Overall, the ES provides a more comfortable ride with enough get go power while the IS has better OOMPH feel. With kids, the ES is the pratical decision because of the room. As far as features, get it fully loaded instead of beatting yourself up with could have, would of and should have.

Get a multimeter and check the fuses for power only when the ignition is in the ON position. Tap that fuse.

Fred, the big key to it all is to make sure you don't run out of fluid as you turn the steering wheel left to right. You wouldn't want to bind anything after you spent all that time changing out the part. Make sure you inspect the hoses really well and replace them if you have to question yourself if they are still good.

SW03ES: Thank you! I'll be happy to do a better writeup when I get a chance. MS_ES330: The installation is easier than you think. It's just a matter of patience and initiative. I'll be disassembling my car in the next few months to add the camera and mic as well as rear seat audio from a Sienna. If you plan on driving up to the Sacramento area in the future, let me know, and I can teach you. It's really easy. I can post more detailed instructions on trim removal, tools, and techniques when I get a chance. The best trim removal tool I've used is a thin and flat screwdriver covered with blue 3M paint from Home Depot's paint dept. Just make sure to check and change the tip tape often. Cutter: As far as the factory manual, I bought mine on eBay which is on a CD. It's in pdf format, but it's missing an index. Not too bad for $10.00.

I'm going overseas in a couple of months and will be getting the Nav mic and camera there. I'm not sure if the part #'s, but the parts from the Toyota Sienna will work. The Sienna XLE Limited has a backup camera, Nav mic, and other neat things I will integrate. My repair manual shows tv, mic, dvd, XM, remote, front/rear camera integration. My brother inlaw just got home from Japan with some car stuff and I'll post what's relevant to our ES's. I was a little nervous on Wednesday after forking out $369.00 plus tax on the XM module (Lexus part #: 86100-0W100) for my Nav/ML equiped ES. After 1.5hrs of install (actually longer since I was taking pictures to post), the result is official, the XM module integrated into my system. The mfg date really didn't matter. I have lots of pictures of the install I can post later this week. I'll be adding the rear view camera and mic this winter. I can't wait to do that! THANK YOU for all your posts on this subject!

Thanks for your quick reply. I'll order my unit from the dealer tomorrow and have to just figure it out myself. If it doesn't work out, then It'll be up for grabs here. BTW- I read the aforementioned part #, but what is the part # of the one you guys ordered. My dealer qulted me a price a lot lower than what I've read so far and I don't want to order the worng part.

Yeah, no left drift with stock. How's your alignment? Do you experience any drift with your wheels?

I installed 17" Helo Tease in chrome with 215/50r17 Dunlop A2's. The speedometer was off just a bit, and the ride wasn't that great. I then switched to 225/55r17 Goodyear Comfortreds and the ride was outstanding. The only problem I ran into is my car now drifts to the left and the tire shop and dealer is stumpped. After realignment, multiple pressure checks, wheel balances, and rotations, the car still drifts. Anyways, 17" wheels in H speed rating makes the ride a lot smoother, but a difference in performance is obvious. 18" wheels will likey give you a more firm ride, but that can be adjusted by speed rating changes. Just make sure you buy from a shop that will back up your application. As of today, my car is now riding on stock wheels with new Michelin MXV4's.

Just called Keyes Lexus. According to the parts guy, over the phone, the XM kit will work for production dates of July 04 and later. He looked up the differences between 04 and 05 head units and said the 05 has Bluetooth. Does anyone here know how true this is? I'd really like to add XM to my car- Heck, bluetooth as well.

After reading what you feel is wrong with the car, it sounds like you are already talking yourself out of it. As the 2004 models fade out and 2005's fade in, you'll also finds some great deals from private sellers wanting to upgrade.
