  1. I had a 2000 Audi A4 1.8T and a 2003 Audi A4 1.8T. I now drive a 2007 Lexus IS250. Simply put, both are GREAT cars, but seeing how this is the Lexus forum, well, you're gonna see lots of Lexus love. Similarly, Audiworld posters will never tell you to go with Lexus. What I've seen... and I live in Miami so little need for 4WD here anyway... My IS is perfect tech-wise thus far, zero unscheduled service visits, it's built quite flawlessly. My A4s were also reliable, but once or twice I did have unscheduled issues that were minor, but hey, they happened. European cars have their "temper" ;). Nothing that would keep me from going with Audi again, I was just not loving the new design of the A4 too much, but probably just bored of Audi. I'd repeat what the poster above says, it comes down to you. Despite what people say either way, both the IS and the A4 are excellent vehicles and I'd have zero problem driving either one. I did get a much better deal financially with Lexus than Audi, but that's mostly due to resale value, etc etc.
  2. My IS is Tungsten, I love the look. And it hides dirt really well too :).
  3. I got my IS for $100 under invoice, granted I'm from Florida, and it was a RWD version because AWD here just isn't very required...
  4. She's a beauty. I can dream, but I think my little 250 and I are in for a long run :).
  5. Yes it is possible. A guy over my.is did it. Here's the link: http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t=317250 I hesitate to ask how much he paid to add that, it looks great though. Probably less work to trade the car for one with Nav/ML. Oddly enough, my 250 has Nav but no ML.
  6. I don't think you're too young, especially considering you're paying for it youself. I know lucky kids with amazing parents- these kids drive finer cars than the IS and don't even have to pay for it ('tis the way the world turns). I'm 22, and a recent college graduate (my Ugrad was a full-ride merit scholarship, thanks to state of Florida :) ). I pay my IS lease (the Lexus college lease, incidentally) along with working part-time and also studying like crazy for the LSAT. My cousin is also 22 and drives an IS. You're not an unusual case at all and I'm shocked that a sales person looking to make a deal would even hassle you, don't take it from them, if they're sales people who like to make money they'll look past arbitrary information like age, base their numbers off your credit score instead and appreciate your business :).
  7. Greetings board, Today (technically yesterday now ;)) I became the proud owner of a 2007 Tungsten IS250 with Nav system (at invoice price after letting the GM know my mom/dad have bought/leased 3-4 Lexus'/Lexii? each from them). I come from two previous Audi A4s, two 1.8Ts. This time around, I felt Audi had lost touch with who was primarily driving their A4 line, so I have shelfed the 4-rings for now. With the strongest recommendations from a cousin of mine and a co-worker, I was told to run to a Lexus dealer and check out the IS. Needless to say, I love this little Lexus so much :). I find it hard to wipe the stupid smile off my face as I drive it all over! It's like a 5/6 model of my dad's GS- only sexier. Anyway, I did have a few questions maybe you guys could help with. 1. Is there a way to cancel the persistent beeping the car's safety-belt-check system makes? For example, if a front-seat passenger briefly removes their safety belt to even do something simple like reach out and get their mail from the box. Of course safety is number-1... but it's really a bit much. 2. iPod connectivity... I see a headphone port in the center console. What connectors/equipment would I need to get my iPod playing through the car stereo? I'm willing to explore all options, and I was briefly told by my salesman that some people opt for an $8 cable, and others go the mile and get a $2-400 setup where the actual console controls the iPod. 3. I know my local Lexus dealer would stock lots of accessories and stuff, but I get the feeling I could do a lot of shopping online. Where's a good place to shop online? My local Lexus dealer is one equipped to deal with selling just 70 cars/month, but they push 350 out the door montly (according to the finance manager), so you can imagine the crazyness just "stopping by" is. Thanks again everyone. I look forward to being an active member of the boards. I'm a very active reader :).
