  1. I purchased Bridgestone Potenza RE-960 4000 miles ago. Absoletly love them. Purchased from Discount Tires.
  2. Sewell Lexus in Texas. Not sure if the Ft Worth or Dallas parts department has what you are looking for. I am on a business trip and have the information on my home computer. They just sent me an email advising that the new version has just been released. Around $250 before rebate. The amount of the rebate depends on what version you have. If you don't get other feedback to your inquiry, let me know at garynlola@comcast.net and upon my return I will forward you the email that I received from their parts department. I have done business with them before (spare tire). Highly recommended.
  3. Take out the two black bolts, one on each side of the glove compartment (inside). Take bolts completely out. Use a cloth with a pair of pliers so you don't damage the bolts. Lower the glove compartment door. The filter will be inisde of the glove compartment. Around $25-30. Found one on ebay a couple of months ago for $12.
  4. I know this may sound a bit ridiculous, but it is worth a try unless you have already pursued this avenue. In your glove compartment are two (one on each side) bolts. They are parallel to the floor and can be taken out with a pair of pliers. But use some cloth with the pliers so you don't damage these bolts. You grab the bolts with the pliers and pull the bolt inward towards the center of the glove compartment. Anyway, once the bolts come out, the glove compartment will drop down. Once that happens, there is an air conditioner air filter. When I removed mine, it was filled with leaves. Possibly some wet leaves got stuck in yours and that is why it smells when you put the heat or a/c on. Your owners handbook should shed some light on the subject of removing the air filter. Filters are relatively inexpensive. I even saw some on ebay for around 10-15 dollars. If this isn't the cause, then I am sorry but I do not have a clue. Good luck.
  5. I thought it would be the tire gauge. But according to page 243 of the owners manual, the tire gauge is in the Tool Bag. I am going to see if a have a tire gauge and if I do, I am going to see if it fits into the molded plastic in the slot you are talking about. If it doesn't fit, I am at a loss. I checked with Lexus parts, and they don't know.
  6. Any reply yet? I'm in the same boat with my 2005. Any reply yet? I'm in the same boat with my 2005. No. Not yet.
  7. Thanks for asking. I too have a 2002 and the same space you referenced is also missing whatever (if anything). I will contact my dealer tomorrow and ask. Will let you know one way or the other.
  8. Just purchased a 2002. I was told that Toyota can do any kind of work except for warranty work. Then you have to go to Lexus.
  9. Take a look at some of the showrooms. I was in one that had a Flat Scrren TV monitor in the men's washroom which allowed me to watch live college football.
  10. Just picked up my 2002. 41,000 miles. No squeeks or rattles. Forget using car in snow. Run-flats are somewhat stiffer and do wear out quicker from what I hear. I am thinking about getting non runflats. Run flats cannot be repaired. If you are on a trip and get a flat, getting to a gas station or dealer is usually not a problem. The problem is if they have the tire you need in stock. Price, at least $300. Expensive flat wouldn't you say. Around 10-15000 miles. If you buy snow tires, you will have to get additional sensors for tire pressure or put up with the bells and whistles of not having th sensors hooked up to the computer correctly. If you buy sensors from someone else other than Lexus, expect to have Lexus match the tire to the sensor for a charge. That is the only time the bells and whistles will stop. rom what I have read, each sensor has a battery which does expire. When battery dies, it cannot be repalced. You have to buy a new sensor. Possibly a better place to buy would be on ebay. Gas mileage is good depending on how you drive. Right around 25 mph. If you decide to change to non-run-flats, a spare and all the accessories will cost you around $650. Saw one on sale from a Lexus dealer in Texas on ebay. Of course, there goes the little luggage room that you had. Looks of the car are awesome. The certified warranty (if you buy from a dealer) is the way to go. BUT!!! It is not transferable.
  11. Need to replace my tires on a 2002 SC 430. Thinking about going to non-RFT. Anyone using non-RFTs? If so, happy with your choice of manufacturer and decision to go non-RFT? Manufacturer name? Anyone using less than the "Z" rated tires recommended by Lexus?
