Regarding the phone issue, can't she get a bluetooth phone and use the hands free feature? And regarding test drives, I think its wrong for dealers to expect us to buy a car for about $50 K based on a short 15 minute test drive. I recently had a sales rep meet me at a parking lot distant from the dealership with a used '06 GX 470 and we hitched up my 5000 lb boat and trailer for a 30 minute test drive. He liked doing something different for a change and I decided the GX 470 passed the tow test. Next challenge for the dealership is to grant us a 2 hour test drive with one of their demos so my wife can be sure her rear end and leg won't go numb like they do in our present car. We'll see........

I'm about to buy a GX 470. I am concerned that the swing-out tailgate might not fully open with some trailers, specifically boattrailers with the usual winch standard fairly foreward on the trailer tongue. I'd appreciate some feedback from owners who trailer boats or other things as to this potential problem. thank You, JimL
