Hi~ I'm about to get my first OIL CHANGE and many friends are telling me to switch to synthetic...since the first is on Lexus, I have several questions... 1. Can I ask for synthetic instead of synthetic blend? (will it be extra or is it complementary...?) 2. If it's complementary, what kind of sythetic motor oil will Lexus use? 3. If it's not complementary, can I bring my own synthetic motor oil? 3. Which is the best synthetic motor oil for 2007 RX350 and how much should I buy (five 1 quart bottles?)? (assuming I change it every 5K or 6 months) 4. How can I make sure that the dealership used the motor oil I gave them or they used is synthetic? 5. Hello!!! Lexus Members~~~ My friend told me that flushing before oil change can much better my engine in the long term... He also told me that I could add the flushing liquid and drive it for about 500 miles but the instruction on the can states, 5 minutes in idle before oil change... Is it OK to drive with the flushing liquid inside the engine and would using this cause any engine problems that could void my warranty? I'm about to get my first oil change and also thinking about using synthetic oil...the dealer told me to use it on my next oil change (10,000 miles) but just wondering if I could change it in my first change... Two factors prompted me to look: 1. No idea what the price will be after 4 years. 2. There a dealer in Greenwich,CT I found that sells for $1855 right now. Good deal to pass up compared to MSRP. Can I get it from your dealer (Greenwich, CT) and take full benefit here in Austin, TX?

I took mine to the dealer and they did a tire rotation and an alignment. Much better than before...

My RX (2007 RX350 w/2,000 miles) when in first gear (when stepping on the gas padel at start) feels like the 1st gear is not in place and sound like when you step on the gas padel when it is in Park mode. And also, it feels like the gears are shipping a bit late then normal.... Anybody experienceing this problem? Best and thanks in advance... Jack from Austin, TX

Thanks...I'm planning to get the parts from eBay...they say it's OEM so I'm planning to get on eBay. Is this a good idea? or should I rather get it from my local Lexus?

Definetly get the garage, Not only will it help protect the lex it also offers some storage and room to keep up on the detailing/maintenance and you'll have a place to sleep when the wif catches you coming home late with liquor on your breath... I so agree with the sleeping in the garage!!!

Hi~ I'm planning to get the mudguard and called my local dealership. Asking about $110 including tax for the part and $105 for installation. Is the installation something I can personally do? I'm good at fixing stuff but never did it on a car. Oh and does the mudguard protect the car a lot in rainy or muddy situations? Best to ALL

Hi~ Just got a new RX350 (White) and loving it. I want to take great care of the car and since I'm located at the HOT Texas, I'm thinking about getting a garage at my apartment. My apartment also has a carport but I perfer the security of the garage (no door dings also). Straight to the point...Is a garage worth the extra money for the exterior and interior (leather)? The garage is an extra $90 and since it is high I'm debating whether I should take it or save the money and rather get an extend warranty... Any help is appreciated... Best to ALL...

Hi~ I'm planning to keep my car for a good 7 years. Is the extended warranty worth it? I'm debating whether I should save that money ($2000 for the 7 years/100,000 miles) or get it before a warranty price increase (don't know when but...anyway). Does the RX350 or any new model cars need a breaking in? Such as driving below 3000 rpm for the first 2000 miles and getting a oil change at the same period. Thanks...

Hi~ Finally got my RX350...what a beautiful car... I'm planning to get the all season mat and cargo tray. Since it's my first new car, I have no idea about exterior and interior care? I'm planning to keep the car for a good 7 years. Maybe tempted for a trade in around 3~4 years but not sure. However I want to keep the car in pristine condition for the unpredictable future. The dealer told me the car is pre-waxed? And a friend of mine recommends a coating (sealant) on the exterior. *********************************************************************************** What kind of care care (inside and out) should I do in order to have a great looking car for years? *********************************************************************************** Since the dealership offers free car wash, I'm planning to take full advantage of that... Hi~ Finally, I'm getting my 2007 RX350...finally~~~THIS IS MY FIRST NEW CAR!!! The dealer told me he has to do a pre-delivery inspection (mechanic has to inspect inside and out and a test drive I heard). What should I examine before I pass over the check? I'm planning to examine the exterior, interior...but have no idea beyond that. Oh...and finally, what extra stuff or jobs can I get for the car to have it in great conditon for a good 10 years. I going to get; 1. All weather mat and cargo mat 2. 3M protection film on the front bumper, fender, hood and side mirrors. (local certified guy asking $430 for the whole job) 3. Front windows tinted. Is a complete wax job needed? Somebody told me that nowadays due to the development in paint technology, a wax coating is not that much needed.

Hi~ I just got a phone call from the dealer that the he is not getting anymore 2007 RX350 and all the incoming ones are pre-sold. And the new 2008 are coming this February. What kind of upgrades are the new 2008 getting? If my local dealership gets a 2007 RX350 somehow, should I jump on that ($3500 discount) or rather get the 2008? Happy New Years to All~~~

Hi~ I just purchased a RX350 and wondering about maintenance. Lexus of Austin told me 5,000 mile oil change is about $100...what's included in the service? Is it literally only the oil chage? Is this something I can do personally? IF so what brand oil does it use? And what services are needed during the vehicle's life span? (If possible the cost as well...Sorry about this question but I ahve no idea of car repairs..) Finally, is it OK to take the RX350 to any local vehicle shops around Austin to save $$$? How about a Toyota dealer? Can they perform the same maintenance and charge me less? I was planning to get an X3 since they have the full maintenance program but I'm glad I got a RX350...I love it...
