Hey guys, I've got this sticky substance which is coming from the sensor on the radiator overflow tank, the substance seems to heat up and flow when the engine is hot and then dry out to a white powdery stain. See the photo attached. It's pretty weird. My best guess is it could be the glue used to stick down the sensor cover. Any ideas?

Thanks for the feedback guys. Just wanted to make sure. I bought the car recently. I might try and flush the coolant just to be sure. And I had this brown sticky stuff coming off the coolant reserver tank where the sensor is. Silly me I cleaned it off before taking a picture!

Anyone know what the normal operating range for the temperature gauge is? I don't have the manual for my LS400 1990. Here is a picture of the temperature gauge. WHat do you think?

Hey Guys, My Lexus LS400 1990 just recently started giving me about four lots of repetitive warning beeps after I hop out of the car and close the door. Sounds like beep beep beep beep..... beep beep beep beep....beep beep beep beep played really quickly. Anyone else ever had this? Annoying the *BLEEP* out of me. Cheers

Hey Guys, I have a LS400 1990 model. It's an import from Japan. When I take off all of the doors try to automatically lock. Except the driver side door doesn't automatically lock, so all the doors can't lock. It keeps trying to do this every 20 seconds or so. Lock / Can't lock ... Lock / Can't lock I have to manually lock the driver side door, and then all the rest of the doors can lock. It's pretty annoying. In addition, the remote entry button doesn't make the driver side lock unlock. I have to manually unlock the door with the key. Does anyone else have this problem? I have thought of two possible solutions: 1. Fix the driver side automatic locking 2. Remove the automatic locking while driving feature. But have no idea how to do either of these. Any help would be appreciated.

To answer questions: 1. My CD Changer didn't work anyway. So I cut my wires. I tried it without cutting the wires, and just splicing in (eg. so you have a three way connection). But you get weird feedback. 2. To solve the problem of the CD Changer not working and just showing Error on the screen, I simply keep the CD Changer door open. This prevents the CD Changer trying to play a CD, but the audio wires are still active. This solution was posted on this forum some time ago. Any other questions welcome

Hey Everyone! I just wanted to share my joy in finally managing to hook my Ipod directly into the stock stereo of my 1990 LS400! I found a wiring diagram on the internet and used it to identify the audio wires that were coming from the CD Changer into the stock stereo. I then cut these and re-connected them to a RCA cable. Now I have an RCA out from the stock stereo! And I've used a RCA to 3.5mm jack into my Ipod. Perfect sound! ... *BLEEP*! Took me long enough to find the website again!
