  1. I have a complete set of 16" OEM Lexus LS430 Alloy Wheels and Michelin tires for sale if interested

    Please call 704-264-6876

  2. I was looking around the LS400 threads, and came across this one, it seems to cover exactly what I'm looking for. http://sr1.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=266091 I have to agree with some of the comments, after seeing ppl's 98-00 LS 400's with 17 & 18" rims, I think that I too like the looks of the stock factory wheels the best, they just seem to 'fit' the car better (IMO), so I'm glad I did some checking around. Now if I can just find a set for a price I can afford...
  3. Thanks for the link, I took a look around, didn't see any available ATM, but I think I might post a WTB on there, it can't hurt. Does anyone know if I got good info last year, about the 2001-2005 wheels fitting on my 2000? I just don't want to make a $4-500 mistake... :o Thanks again!
  4. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where a person could pick up a set of factory rims for my summer tires on my LS400. The local boneyards are pretty proud of their stock, and are priced only about $10-30 per wheel less than a set of aftermarkets, and I was hoping not to spend that much on them. I was talking to BKK about his set back in Dec, but haven't heard back from him since then. Any suggestions are appreciated, and I understand that rims from an LS430 will also fit my vehicle. Thanks!
  5. Thanks for the info, PM'ed him about the price, as I'm sure they would look nice on my 2000 LS400... ;)
  6. I do not see anywhere in the forum that these wheels have been sold. If that is the case, I will buy them! I need them ASAP, and would appreciate a rreply. Thanx Sorry guys, these are already on my LS... I do have the 2002 LS430 16-inch sitting around though.. without tires.. Do you know if those will fit on a 2000 LS400? I'm looking for a set that is less than what I would pay for aftermarkets, or what my local boneyard is charging. Not sure if the bolt pattern/offset is the same or not, do you know? If they would fit, what are you charging for them? Thanks!
  7. I just read a thread about Lexus having a sludge issue, due to lack of proper maintenance, the issue is smoking during startup? I just purchased my 2000 LS400 with 70,000 miles, and saw for the first time, yesterday and then again this morning (the temp has been in the upper single digits to low teens at startup) a small cloud of blue smoke, which goes away in a few seconds. Being this is the 1st time it's been this cold since I bought it last week, it might have happened before, but I don't remember seeing it the first 4-5 mornings I drove it. I have a 30 day, 1000 mile basic warranty from the dealer, I declined to spent the $1500-2000 on a 2-3 year warranty for it, as these are quite reliable cars. This does worry me now, I am going to drop it off on Sat at the dealer, and they'll look at it Monday morning. If this is the above mentioned sludge issue, what should I do? Is it something that they should take care of under my warranty, or something that should have been taken care of before I purchased it? Usually the smoke at startup indicates bad valve guide seals, oil leaking past them over night and hence the smoke at startup, but with this car, I guess I'm not sure. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
  8. Hi, new member here, my 1st post. I'm next door in MN, and just got my new snows on this week, the 1st thing I did after I bought my car last week (a 2000 LS400) I went with Michelin this time, though my last couple vehicles I have had Blizzaks. During the 1st 25-30% of the tread life (maybe 1-2 seasons) there aren't many if any tires better, but once you get past that point, their grip becomes no better than an average snow tire, and worse than other "premium" tires in the same price range as the Blizzak goes for. Haven't had any snow yet to test them out in, but made the purchase on advice from others that have been happy with them. Have to say that I am happy with them on dry pavement, no issues to speak of, quiet enought for snow tires, and paid $540 out the door for a set mounted, balanced and road warranty from Costco. I agree that you should consider getting a 2nd set of rims for them, as getting them mounted and unmounted twice a year tends to do bad things to the bead. After doing some checking at local bone yards, the price they want for factory wheels is comparable to the price for brand new aftermarkets. The best price I found was $95 each used, though someone said they had a line on aftermarket steel rims in the $50-55 range, plus hubcaps if I wanted (yes, thank you). So.. that comes out to about 3/4ths the price of used Lexus rims, a little less than that for new aftermarket. Fortunately, I am going to be buying new summer tires next year, and at that point I can decide how I want to go, I might get lucky and find some factory rims cheaper than I've found so far, but I'm not counting on it. I'll probably just go with new aftermarket rims, we'll have to see what I find. Hope this helps!
