  1. I would just like to find a working oem radio for my '92 Ls400. Must be Pioneer am/fm, cassette, with CD control. I already have the 6-disc changer in the trunk. If anyone has one or knows where I can get one for a reasonable price, I would appreciate your reply.
  2. Thanks, yes. I believe I found it through the same person you wanted me to contact. His name is Gus.
  3. I am definitely interested, I just need to make my wallet jump on that bandwagon. Especially since my wallet seems to be directly connected to the happiness of my husband. Anyway, please let me know how much you could get it for. I've found one salvage yard around my area that has it, but they want an arm and a leg and my daughters first-born. :chairshot: Thanks!
  4. Thanks. Now I just have to find one for my Lexus. Wish me luck, I'll need it!
  5. Here comes the hardest part now. Finding a radio I won't have to sell my soul to afford. Would you have any idea if a factory radio from a SC300 or SC400 would fit in my '92 LS400. Both are pioneer premium head unit. Appreciate your advice. :D
  6. Now mind you, I am no mechanic or genius. All I can tell you is that I had a similar problem with another car I own. Just about the same story. As I was driving down the road one day, all the digital gauges and lights came on, and then went completely out. About five minutes later, the car started acting real sluggish, then died going down the road. These became common for the next few days until I could bring it in to the shop. After the mechanic looked over the alternator, the fuel pump, fuel filter, wires,etc....He finally came across the freeze plug, which he said was spraying water from the block. The water was shorting out the ignition wires. This is what was causing the instrument cluster to go nuts and making the car die he said. He replaced it, and I didn't have this problem any more. This car was not a Lexus, but my old Cavalier Z24. I don't know if this will help, but I hope you figure it out before you have that baby. Good luck! :D
  7. Of course, it would never be anything simple that I could fix <_< Oh well, I figured I would have to spring for another. I was just trying to avoid it if I possibly could. Thanks
  8. Hi, I've got a '92 Lexus LS400 with what I'm sure is a dead radio. I found another radio, but guy says it's from the Sc400 and sc300, earlier 90's model. The model # of his radio is (86120-24220) or the pioneer #is (KEX-M9161ZT). Does anyone know or can find out if this radio will fit in my LS400? I would very much appreciate the info.
  9. O.k. here's my problem. I bought my '92 LS400 used just a couple of months ago. In the beginning, the radio would decide when it wanted to work. Occasionally the radio would come on, the antenna would go up, and the light for the radio panel would come on. It is the Pioneer factory unit. I have the 6-disc changer in the trunk. These days, the radio will not play at all, though the display shows stations. Also, the display light does not come on, and the antenna does not go up. The CD player and cassette player work just fine. Great sound for those, though display light will not come on for those options either. I've checked the connections in the back of the unit, everything's hooked up fine. Any advice on what my problem could be? Alos, I checked all the fuses, all are good. :chairshot: :chairshot: :chairshot:
  10. I could use some advice on what might be wrong with my stereo. I purchased this car just a few months ago. Problem is, when I first bought the car, the radio would decide to play only when it wanted too. I noticed that whenever the radio would play, the light for the panel would come on as well. The antenna would also go up. It was like that for a while. The tape player works, as well as the cd changer. Both of those play fine, but still without the panel light. Now the radio will not play at all, the antenna never goes up, and the panel light never comes on. It is the stock Pioneer premium unit. I checked the connections in the back of the unit, and everything's plugged in fine. I was told by a mechanic from the lexus dealership that the power antenna would not have anything to do with the panel light. So what else could be wrong?
