  1. I'm selling my 96 SC-300, 59k mi.,garaged, non-smoker, perfect cond.,OEM wheels & tires(16") + IS-300 wheels & tires(17") $12k
  2. Mine has the Ecru (ivory) interior also, I got a set of black mats (gen. Lexus) for it, looks much better, adds contrast, much easier to care for, $98.00 plus shipping.
  3. You can get the trunk lifts from rockauto.com, less than $40.00 for a pair, lid will raise it's self with just a nudge.
  4. Drain the transmission oil & put in synthetic, makes a big difference in shifting, much smoother & quieter. I personally like "Redline" the best, I've used it in several different vehicles with excellent results (we're talking manual transmissions only now). look in your owners manual & see what oil it calls for (10-30 or whatever) & cross ref. it to the correct synthetic. You'll probably never have to change it again as the syn. is good for around 100k, really never wears out, never gets contaminated like engine oil.
  5. There's a 92 SC 300 5 speed in Tulsa in Auto Trader Mag. It says:5 spd, loaded, Exc. cond., 103k mi, $7500 OBO. 918-747-9936.
  6. 235/50/17 is the correct size for correct speedometer. Not too large a selection tho, I used Falken 512's, look really nice.
  7. There's a set of lowering springs on Ebay right now Sc300/400 Item#7936064033
  8. Get OEM Toyota pads, have your rotors turned, you'll have excellent brakes that will last another 100k miles. importedcarparts.com have the OEM pads.
  9. The bolt sets up, the face of the bolt grips the balance pulley making it tough to break loose, it's dificult to hold the pulley (engine) stationary & get good leverage on the bolt head. Lexus makes a tool to hold it or you can improvise something. I always heat the bolt head red (just the head if the bolt not the pulley) a couple of times & give the breaker bar a good whack & it breaks loose. Bolt gets longer when you heat it, therefore a little looser.
  10. That mechanic is B S ing you, your clutch is not completly releasing probably because of a hyd. leak. Take it to another shop.
  11. Get your mechanic to bleed your clutch hyd. system before you ruin your new clutch. Then repl. the clutch master cyl. or slave cyl., which-ever is leaking & bleed it again (bleeding very simple.)
  12. Look at "Falken" tires on the internet, your size on factory rims is 245/40/18. The ZIEK-512 has won several awards for quality, noise etc. Very nice looking & reasonable price,I have them on a 96 SC-300, Ill put them on my 430 when time comes.
  13. That's a really good price for a 96 5spd., if it's clean & straight, real good.
  14. johnny3@fullnet.net 918-825-0334, after 4pm cst, still trying to decide whether to keep or sell.
  15. My 04 averages 23 all around driving & cruising city, 27 hi-way only.
  16. I have a 96 SC 300, 59k miles, perfect, garaged, Bordeau Pearl (dark red), just bought new SC 430. 12K, I'm 62+ so it's been serviced & babied.
  17. Most people are not happy with the CD type manuals, the info is there but there's lots of scrolling to find what you need at the time. try www.manuals4you might get lucky & find them.
  18. I think you bent the axle, the rotor mounts to the axle flange, better check that first, take the brake disc off & check for run-out (wobble) where the disc flinges to axle.
  19. You don't have to do that, that's only so you can get to those oil seals.
  20. Some people & shops recomend it & water pump cause you're right there (easy to get at) when you repl. the belt. Personally I don't if they're not seeping but I do my own work. Get prices both ways if you're having it done. I just did one with 191,000 mi. thats had the belts (me) changed 2 times now but original water pump & oil seals, still did'nt change them. soooo you'll have to decide
  21. Won't hurt a thing to wait but gas milage will improve when you change them.
  22. Many cars with moderately high milage (80k +) that change to synthetic start leaking a little. Just ask a few that have done it. (Me on several different cars.)
