There's a little "admin options" box in the upper right area. You double click to bring up the window. But, I believe you have to be authorized to get access. I tried as a test and could not get "logged in" to make changes. PM one of the Moderators, VMF, SRK, - they'll help you out.

I would think so..... I counted out 4 secs after reading your post...that's a long time cranking! Especially just overnight... maybe after a month or two....I could see it. Those pdf's are all from my 99 LS service manual, so let me know if you need more. If the fuel pump is faulty, it's behind the rear seat! I'll send some more diag/relay possilbities.... 99

Yes, 400 k is not a problem - Engine, Tranny, Diffy all solid if well maintained. The problem would be with the rest of the car. As you can see, a lot of parts wear out over 10 years. We need a test driver to put 100K a year on a 2000 or so LS - Then we would have a car with 500K+ miles and no work on the suspension, mounts, PS, ets. :D

Mobil one 5-30 is most popular among us... Amsoil 5-30 is also excellent an what I use. Use TOYOTA T-IV TRANSMISSON FLUID ONLY. It has synthetic additives, and is made for the tranny - great stuff!

whoo............... this is staggering! Did the new bearings and pulleys on the engine really help "quiet" her down? Very Impressive. Hey, since the engine is good for 400K, You've (maybe) just got yourself a new LS ( you said the ride was smooth like new!) for $3500. That's 10 more years of service so it's a bargain.

Remove wheel. Remove caliper. Disconnect ABS speed sensor and wire harness Dissconnect Tie Rod End from lower ball joint - use SST Disconnect Lower Ball Joint from Lower suspension arm - use SST Remove Lower Ball Joint from steering knuckle Reverse for install

There was a thread about this within a month ago. And some pics in the gallery. If you have the SST from Autozone, and a semi knowledgable mechanic friend - you can pull it off. I agree - it's about a 3 rating - challenging!

How about a bottle of Fuel additive? Did your cousin buy any gas? Check the spark plug connections, coil, etc....

I agree this is the way to clean and engine :D Add a little WD-40 & or Armour All to a rag now and then if needed. And, as VB has stated before, keep the TV out in the garage and watch a game as you clean :D

I hear you on that one too. I just drained , refilled coolant and took 8+ quarts for an 11.5 quart system. I assumed some coolant is below the drain !Removed! in the block as well. I think the best way is to flush and refill again the next weeked ;)

No, you don't need to turn it. Just feed it in with the handle reading "engine oil" right side up and parallel to the valve cover. You are correctly "seating" it as you push it down all the way till it stops. Now, you'll need to twist the ATF dipstick clockwise and then pull out cause it has a little "catch" on the fill tube to keep it in place. Otherwise, same procedure as oil stick. 99

No - they cannot. Only links are via Lexus dealerships. An independent shop will not be on their records. But if any owner keeps the records from indep. shop, it will be proof of maintenance enough that another buyer should feel good about it..... Just always go to a good , reputable lexus/import shop in your area. The good words will follow its reputation.

Gotcha - keep them all Closed; that's my only thought! I'll see if I can find anything in the shop manual....... Bundle up!

my guess is due to the fan running (which gives bottom heat), it's pulling the cold air in at same rate... This is only a guess.... On my 99, I have these "dials" that are mounted Vertically next to each UPPER vent L & R and in the middle of the two center vents. You can turn them about 15 degrees and they kinda "click" into lock position. One is for outside air draw and the other shuts the outside air baffle. I feel the difference! If your 96 doesn't have them, I too am a little miffed <_< 99

Good fix michaelsn! And excellent photos with Text - Thanks for doing that :D (I keep my 3mp camera with me all the time).... This is exactly what happened to the 93 when I was in the shop last week! Smart move to replace the hose too. The leak will cause engine to "Puff White Smoke" some on startup, so you might have some residue for a bit. I think they charged the guy $100 for the part & $270 total for the fix!! Smart Diaganostic with the fuel filter! Let us know how much the part costs and give us a review after test drive...... 99
