  1. I thought GOOP was that creamy soap to wash your hands....? What is this? I agree on the plastic tank...find something! Watertight caulking or similar...find something that is PRO GRADE and adheres to plastic with some heat resistant characteristics... 99
  2. You can order up to 4 free samples so get four....
  3. I passed on the NAV as did 1990LS400......... MY reasons were: I just liked the looks of the dash without it. Knew it was $300+ for each upgrade. It is a Harddrive system (select to Lexus) so I couldn't get it done cheaper. Was worried the screen would burn out....and.. The display reminded me of the old video game 'METEORIOD" - (remember that one..) ------------------------------------ The new ones are CD based and have killer displays :D Welcome to LOC! Enjoy the ride 99
  4. Now you know why we have many DIY'ers...... If I were the service manager, you'd have a free loaner until its fixed; a sincere apology for the inconvience; and another thankyou for your business. Plus the next oil change & service would be on the house..... For $60,000 - you deserve this at a minimum......... 99

  8. Yes,, JPI is right.... But if you think your gaining since you've done couple of pan drains....is it worthwhile to do a couple more? I'd still try to find the codes if possible..... Here are all the AT Diagnostics for my 99 LS. I have no idea if they are accurate for your car, but for a landmark post # (for me), I've just got to include the online manual in pdf.... 99 dtcc.pdf
  9. Uh oh.... Wrong thread!!!! Sorry..... B)
  10. sc4, Here are all the codes for AT Diagnostics - 99ls You say it's better since you've done a couple of t-IV pan drains.....do you think it's worth it to do a couple more? 99 dtcc.pdf
  11. Hey, They finally put the gas cap on the driver's side!!!! :D Is this new in 04, or did they start in 01,02..... This is where it's suppposed to be It doesn't look as "Bold" to me.....but an excellent look in its own right. I love the fact it's got more trunk room, leg & int. room, and longer wheelbase (01+). The nose is "stubbier", but still agressive. I love the pearl white finish the best - what a car!!!!!!!!!!!! More torque, smoother, quieter.......a totally awesome machine What's is cost to lease one of these puppies? 99

  15. Here's the Diag for suspension & axle problems - 99 model LS - but still useful I believe..... How does it "react" on the bumpy/gravel roads...... Worn lower ball joints are a classic sign of wheel shimmy.... BTW,,, what type of Michelins did you put on & do you like them...? pst.pdf
  16. Oh yeah, you'll get a code if whatever is malfunctioning.... Here is ex. of O2 sensor for my 99LS.... cip0420p.pdf
  17. My lexus repair shop (indep) said they would only last 90K or so on the Gen I's..... ;) Some changes were made on the 98+ models for improvement. Now, maybe that improvement was just in ride quality - not durability. But I gathered that they thought (the durability) was improved also.
  18. k9, I've always left in in D an off I go...............but I drive EASY. I would agree there's a little lag. I'll experiment with your procedure :D Your attention to detail is appreciated - no stone must remain unturned! 99
  19. for the 98-00 models and perhaps even earlier, Lexus integrated a two - cup holder that retracks within the rear center armrest cushion. I have one on mine :D If you find these years center armrest.....you'll find the cupholders too!

  23. SC, I'm scanning all over in my 99 LS Diagostics...... I wonder if The ATF temp sensor (or shift solenoids) sent a code to the ECM? Have you disconnected the battery for 5 min or so to see if it Clears the codes? A definate guess, but somewhat educated - and certainly an easy fix! Let us know, and I'll keep looking................
