I am not the Bumbper repair pro in my company but, I beleive he uses an exacto nife or razer and cuts off the loose stuff, then uses body filler to smooth over the deep stuff and primers and repaints. Many mobile specialist will do this for about 250.00 and it can be done in about an hour and half usually sometime a little more or less depending on damages. Most of the pros don't advertise so hears the insider scoop if you know someone that works used car lots ask them who does their bumbper or paint touch up. I service dealerships in Portland Oregon and we have teams of guys that have expereince in Bumbpers/Interiors/Touch Up piant my specialty :0). Or if you have aren't shy simply ask to talk with the used car manager and he will tell you who they use for such tings. We are half the price of dealerships. I also use PlasticX frm Meguirs line however, your in San Dieago California and the other people are in Ohio or other not so nice climates which effects the longevity of each application. The biggest hing most people forget is when you wet sand or use and abbrasive your pulling off all the protection and many techs will do that but then put on a a clear coat with a rage so it gives it some longevity.

Basically just remember they Key itself is not truly part of the transponder. It's radio controlled unit from the black peice that can be cut off your key with an exacto nife and the key would still work in the door etc... I have an older LS400 and most people discover from 90-95 the cheapest option is to simply go to car toys and get a better system put in place and just leave the remote switch OFF in your car. I heard one guy on another part of this forum I beleive say he spent 167 dollars at cartoys or similar stereo store and got Remote that not only unlocked his doors but was able to remote start and roll windows down. Much cheaper and more modern than the original Lexus Key FOB. I have heard rumors of guys cutting the Key FOB off one unit and replacing it wit another if yo have the right FCC ID whic I never found and reprogram the unit which the programing only works if you have some pretty intense gear and an .... Engineering degree :0)
