  1. i'm not sure of the exact size and number but you should be able to call the dealer and they can give it to you!!
  2. you'll ahve to go to the dealer to get the lights. they are not a standard size available at auto parts stores. i had to replace mine when i bough the car and hunted all over before realizing that. toyota dealerships didn't even have the bulbs!! i had to go to lexus.
  3. i believe the screw on the top adjusts up and down while the screw on the bottom is left to right. now don't quote me on this but i seem to remember it being that way. as far as the bubble is concerned don't but too much into centering the bubble. use a garage door or a wall while it's dark to adjust the level and to even the two lights out. because if you're like me and the front of you're car as ever had work done to it. the bubbles could be right on and the light is way off. they never seem to go back just the way they were after body work! hope this helps
  4. well in answer to your tire question, i run 255/35/20 on my 20's. i hope this helps
  5. yes we do have different tires. his car has the stock rims and tires, mine has performance tires. but his are still all season radials and should give a farely good grip. i don't know how well they compare to my tires since mine probably weren't designed with snow in mind. it's just puzzling to say the least. but even if the tires were not getting traction, shouldn't the traction control try and brake the tire and not just let it free spin, i mean it would just let both tires spin as long as he would hold the throttle. weird!
  6. actually to all those concerned my car is rear wheel drive, not front. i do all the work on my car and am very familiar with the vehicle. as far as i know they've never made a front wheel drive gs. on that i could be wrong but i know for a fact my car is rear wheel drive. the gs's were built closely following the toyota supra drive train. we just got robbed of the turbo here in the states. besides i have done many a wonderful burn outs in my car, and none were from the front.
  7. ok first of all my roomate is the one who posted this topic so i know exactly what he's talking about because i went out with him to see what he was complaining about. and believe me it is not normal and has nothing to do with lack of traction related to tires. i also have a gs and had no problem with the snow actually it did amazingly well. the only time i lost traction was when i wanted to if you know what i mean. and i drove at least a half an hour through the snow. and really he's not kidding it would not even make it out of our apartment parking lot. and were not talking about a foot of snow or anything, just enough to make it interesting. something is very much wrong with the traction control system. to even move it a little bit he had to turn off the traction and put it into low. it's like it's not even engaging. i don't know if it could be a sensor or some other part of the system. there are no problem lights on and lexus is pretty good about attaching a light to any malfunction of the car. but nothing and the traction light flashes when the wheels were spinning like it was working buy nothing. we were hoping to see if anyone else has gone through this before he has to pay lexus big bucks. but we know it's not related to tires or something he's not doing right, yet a mechanical failure, so any help is appreciated!!
  8. first off welcome to the club, as an owner of several different makes of cars before i can say with all honesty that lexus is the best car i've ever owned and wouldn't buy anything else. i also bought a pre owned lexus and have been nothing short of amazed since owning it. i have had no major repairs and i'm already over 160,000 miles. as far as any major concerns regarding repairs you might want i would check if the timing belt has been changed and if it has was it at 60k or 90k miles. as far as the mileage 100,000 is just broken in with good preventative maint. you should easily get 200,000+ i wouldn't bat an eyelash and buy it you'll be amazed at the quality guaranteed
  9. well i don't really worry about trunk space none of my cars have had any trunk space. that's why i have a back seat! nobody ever rides in the back, mostly cause i don't let them so i always have room to put extra stuff. and i tried before to put in just a ten in a box under the back dash. uh no! then i tried a kicker L7 12 in the same place. still no. then i tried two 12's under the back dash facing into the trunk and ported into the cab. not quite. so now you can see where i'm at. and still i'm going to upgrade my twelves. what can i say i'm a bass junkie!! i've always had competion level systems in my cars so i'm kinda spoiled on the sound level. i'd agree though for most a much smaller set up would be more then ample. oh and by the way i'm not a big fan of the kicker speakers, i had nothing but problems with mine. i know other people who love theirs but as i found out from kicker themselves the square subs are not designed for odd shaped enclosures ie; going around the gas tank in a gs300. that's why i couldn't get the sound quality i wanted. but i'm real picky!! thanks for all the input though, i do appreciate it.
  10. believe it or not over 150,000. she's been great, i'll never buy anything else again.
  11. hey guys well i finally got some pictures of my car posted in the gallery. they 're the last one of the 93 silver gs. let me know what you guys think!
  12. to bama lexi. you do have an amp in the trunk from the factory. in your case you may be able to simply get a changer from the junk yard or off e-bay. your radio and wiring harness sound like they're already set up for a changer. gs3 had a little different situation in the fact that it sounded like he didnt have a radio with changer controls plus he had already installed an aftermarket cd player.
  13. well here is another suggestion just for the sake of having options. try pricing out just what it would cost to have a four channel amplifier put in to run the stock speakers. i did that for a while before upgrading the speakers it worked great and then you will have enough power down the road to upgrade from the stock speakers. you never know it might be cheaper!
  14. well im new to the club and saw your question. i actually still have the factory radio and changer for my 93 gs300. i've replaced all the audio in my car and would be interested in getting rid of my stock stuff for the right price. it all works great i just replaced it with dvd, a screen and the matching changer. let me know.
