  1. During normal driving conditions, your lx will self level if the situation warrants it - i.e. you pull onto your sloped driveway, put it in park, and while searching for your wallet the truck will level itself. But if your driving down the road and it begins to act like a low-rider in heat, then you have problems. Or you got too much weight in there! The max capacity is around 1200 lbs including passengers. If you exceed this, the AHC senses the weight and goes into L as a failsafe mode. The only way around this problem (if you sometimes drive w/ a full load, sometimes empty) is to run airbags in the coils. I can vouch for that. During our Xmas trip, I used a hitch carrier for our luggage so it's weight coupled with seven passengers inside confused the hell out of the ride height. The indicator would show L or N without any driver intervention. Dealer said everythings checked out and we've had no problems since.

  3. I purchased mine from a non-lexus dealer and because it was going to be sight unseen, with the exception of photos, I called Lexus CS and they told me the selling dealer. The selling dealership provided me with the service history even though they were not the servicing dealership. Every Lexus person I spoke with was very helpful. Hope you get the information you are looking for.
  4. Another update on SRS light. Dealer informed me they may have knocked one of the SRS wires loose while installing headrest monitors, causing break in circuit. They found wire and resecured it. It's been three days since they've returned it to me and so far no warning light!
  5. Just a quick update. Left it with dealer on 26th as they were unsure to fix problem prior to road trip. They think they may have caused problem while installing rear headrest dvd system. They hope to have an answer and a time estimateby end of today.
  6. Hi all. I plan on talking to the dealer about this but I wanted to get ya'lls input as well. It seems vacation grimmlins are coming out. We plan on leaving for a well deserved weeks vacation on Tuesday and will be packing in the LX. But last week I cracked my tooth, prompting a visit to the dentist Monday. Then on my way back from the Aransas Wildlife Refuge yesterday my SRS warning light began blinking. Since I'll be in San Antonio tomorrow having my tooth looked at I plan on driving by the dealership to have it checked out. That worries me as we will be leaving the following day. Has anyone else exerienced an SRS light? Thanks. :(
  7. No offense but when I first read this post I thought it was a silly question. Just select phone book, add an entry with number and save, right? That was until I downloaded my phonebook, wanted to call my wife and realized only the pager number downloaded. Seems you can only download one number per cell phone entry. No problem, a small inconvenience. I went to add an additional number and that's when it hit me. You have asked a very intriguing question. Is there a manual way to enter data into our phonebook? Help :o
  8. I'm sure your leather is head and shoulders above the Chrysler and what you are seeing is creasing, not cracking. High quality leather interiors will show wear from the constant pressures of our behinds but will take years before they break down, much like a fine pair of leather shoes. Average leather interiors will succumb to the rigors of rear-end exposure much sooner. In our 02 Explorer, the leather is ok but no where near the quality of our LX and it is definitely cracking. We also have a TT Roadster, again much higher quality leather; it has creasing but no cracks and its constantly exposed to our hot and humid weather. If it is worrisome, ask the dealer to check it out. Good luck!
  9. That's great news you were able to get it resolved. As a service to those who may purchase that phone could you post the instructions? Thanks!
  10. Your best bet would be to go to their site and get a quote. I paid around 2k (don't recall exact $$ as it's been nearly 4 years) for coverage up to 100K and it reflected my bumper to bumper coverage from factory.
  11. They used to be made by Araco (maybe until '05 ish). The 4Runners have also been having problems with rattling moonroofs, as well as play/movement in the driver's seat, and vibration at certain rpms since '03 w/ no fixes yet. Are you using the stock tires in the snow? Which did you get, the Dunlop GrandTreks or Bridgestone HT's? I got 15mpg on 87 octane gas (mostly city), est. of 17+mpg on this tank so far (mostly hwy, 55-60mph, 91 octane chevron). Nav estimates 19.5mpg for last weekend's day trip, but it seems to be optimistic. The vehicle has lots more power using 91 octane over 87 on the hills (you don't have to press the accelerator as hard, plus I have a very light foot), so you use less gas. Altitude here is from 2500-5000 ft, humidity of 5-20%. I just purchased an used 06 and really enjoy the ride. However, I do have a slight vibration/rattle noise coming from somewhere inside the cabin. It only happens at low speeds going over imperfections in the road (cracked pavement, small bumps). Seems to be coming from the gear selector area but not sure. Also notice driver's seat shifting. Thinking of having the dealership trouble shoot the vibration. Does anyone know if they will replace the driver's side seat or just shimmy it? First time lexus owner so not sure what to expect. Thanks!
  12. I used warranty direct for an extended coverage for one of our previous trucks and had no problem with their service. The dealership would contact them and they were never denied. I'd would definately give them strong consideration next time I am in the market. Price was also hard to beat.
