analog dies 01 01 08. is there an aftermarket kit to change to digital? lexus says no, but they also said a backup camera could not be added to my LS430 and a local audio-alarm guy did it for me. not a regular, so apoligize if this has been done to death in the past.

wife liked the backup camera on the 460 (she had a couple of backup adventures)...asked lexus dlr if they could add camera to my nav system. nope, but the service writer mentioned a small audio etc company in sacramento who might do the job. they did, and the camera is a tiny box mounted just above the lic plate. works great. cost 1k, but cheaper than deductible plus ins increase...and wayyyyy better than hitting neighbor kid. this may be old news to old members, but it really solved my problem.

drove LS460 and liked the nav screen (bigger and brighter), backup camera, knee bags, etc, but also just returned from trip to vegas in my 02 LS430... 10 hours each way and feeling good at the end of the trip...looked down at speedo when moving with traffic and 90+ no commotion, just quiet with the miles ticking off. just cant trade it for the 460. love that big black 430. 460 was not as quiet...tranny was not as quiet and seemed "busy." finally convinced my business partner to quit repairing m-bz and he got the LS 430 too.
