  1. Hi, I found a great mechanic in my area by using Car Talk's website - www.cartalk.com On the front page there is a section called Mechanics Talk where you can put your zip code in. It will bring up a list of repair shops by distance from your zip. It also shows you feedback from people that have used them be it either good or bad. good luck.
  2. Thanks the is exactly what I am looking for. Please post the codes when you get time. I will post pictures as well as I go along. Cheers, Tom
  3. Hi All, My 96LS wheels have seen better days. I would like make them look new again without breaking the bank. I searched and read about painting the emblem with gold Testors paint like from a hobby store. Seems like a good idea. But what about the chrome center caps? I am not sure how they got that way in the first place (like that since I bought it). Can they be repainted? I searched on the bay but did not find any replacements. I am sure the are huge $$ from the dealer. I have enclosed some pictures to show how bad they are. Anyone have any thoughts or recommendations please pass them along. Thanks! Tom
  4. aybe Old English or a wood filler pen? the wood fillers (home depot) may work well of they deep if you can get the color close. Try alternating the brown and black to get that burled look. good luck
  5. I just got the above done plus plugs and a tranny flush and fill for $1,700. I am not mechanically inclined so if there was any question I changed it. "good for another 100K" were my mechanics words. I hope he is right! 210K on 1996LS
  6. Hi, I went to the site but could not find the ball joints. Couple of questions... I know the right ball joints need replace... Should I replace them both? What other parts should I replace at the same time - bushings, rod ends, etc... Thanks in advance for any and all help.
