  1. My 350 got 15 mpg, winter and city only driving when I first got it, it has climbed over time and now with 6K miles, and 10 months old, it is up to 20mpg city only driving, and I park and start my car alot, typically 6 times in the about 14 miles I drive on a typical day. If I jump on the highway right after I fill up I can pull 31mpg if I take it easy and run for max gas miles. I would say give it 7-10K miles and see what happens, I'll bet it loosens up.
  2. I would not do it again, my dealer told me 6-8 weeks, and after 10 weeks my car was not even on the build list, which ment it was at least 8 more weeks out, plus shipping... I finally gave up and canceled my special and picked one that was on a ship headed for the US, it still took almost 3 more weeks to show. On the plus side they took a check for 2K from me but never cashed it. Good luck.
  3. I think this is the last year for the current body style on the TL, this was a factor in my decision when I compared these cars. Plus I could not stop thinking about the IS, and feeling disapointed in the peformance of the TL. The decision was easy for me.
  4. If I were you I would check out kelly blue book for values. But my advise would be pick the one you like the best, why would you want to drive a car for the next 3-5 years that you did not like as well because you were worried about what might happen years from now.
  5. I'm curious who is taking on who out there. Me: here you go. 02 Grand Prix..... Won, but got wacked off the line, had him by 2 car legnths by 80 Honda shadow motorcycle.... Won but only because I got him off the line, otherwise dead even Shelby GT500.... Got wacked, but worth it. :chairshot: Trying to get my budy wih a 01 Corvette to race me, so far he does not want any part of me, too much face to lose if I win. I thought there was no point untill mr. Grand Prix raced him and lost by about what I beat him by.
  6. Also, I noticed my right light didn't have the range of motion that my left light did. When I took my car in for the 5k service, the technician told me that the left light turns 15 degrees, while the right light only turns 5 degrees. I have no idea why this would be limited on the right side (perhaps a safety/blinding issue related to this). Maybe he was just feeding me something so I'd quit asking. Seems to me that 5 degrees would be hardly noticable. Maybe he just quoted incorrect angles. The owners manual says its only 5 degrees to the left so you dont blind oncoming trafic
  7. I would recommend using a video camera, and recording the problem so the dealer can see it happen.
  8. That scares me a bit, my uncle put NOS on his car and he started shreading his supercharger belts, and ended up taking it off. It was even the kit recommended for his car by NOS.
  9. Yea, not really looking for alot, just something to keep it interesting, maybe next summer or something. P.S. I just raced a shelby GT500, man that thing runs good, of cource it better it has just over 500 horse, he obviously beat me but he had to work alot harder than he thought origionally (he lit the back end up going into second to stay ahead). Fun, that is why I bought the car!!! to have FUN
  10. I would think that if you put a cold air intake (i think injen makes one for the IS 250/350) and/or a cat-back you could get somewhere between 10-20 horsepower (if you do both, more obviously). I haven't seen any dynos for this car specifically though, so I'm not sure. I'm new to the forum, but you might want to try searching for intakes/exhaust/modifications and see what you find. I just read a little bit about it, and it sounds interesting, the people who want to sell it to you say 19HP gain for the intake alone, seems high to me for just changing the intake. This seems to be backed up by some of the people who have done it, they seem to think more in the 5 HP range, but if you couple this with exhaust it sound like you are starting to get somewhere.
  11. Has anyone had any luck getting more HP out of their 350?, I'm thinking about trying to squeeze another 15 or 20 horse out of it, but dont want to shoot in the dark. I would appreciate any thoughts, or better yet some advise that has worked. Thanks
  12. I saw it on the SB. The math was hard to follow, and I was left with an impression of "So what?". I thought the Toyota Tundra truck ads worked better. Here's how you go, how you stop, and how low end torque helps you pull. I thought it was cool, but I have a degree in Physics....
  13. First verify that you have enough antifreeze in your system, that could cause poor heating performance. It has been cold in denver latley, several days in a row between 0 and 15 below zero at my house in the morning, 10 minutes warm up and mine is warm for the 3.5 mile drive to work. I put the temp to HI and the fan to high. Although I have noticed that it does not seem to do quite as well as my old honda did with getting the heater nice and hot.
  14. The problem is you wasted your money and bought a Lexus instead of a Subaru. If you wanted a car that goes in the snow, you made the wrong choice. All AWD is not created equal...you found that out the hard way. Wife has an 07 IS250. I have an 07 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Ltd. Her car is like 10K more than mine. Guess which one gets around in the snow better...WAY better. No, I dont have the Lexus image, luxury, etc. But when it snows....it goes. Subaru has the AWD down and has been doing AWD longer and better. 50/50, symmetrical AWD. It works incredibly better than the Lexus.... Now I'll wait for the Lexus crowd to pile on....whatever....I'll seem them stuck in the snow as I drive by...I'll stop and help if I'm able. My wifes 2002 outback LL Bean goes in the snow, and I dont mean kind of, the only thing that stops it is getting high centered, so if that was the only reason to buy I would agree with you. However, everything else in my 350 is nicer and in some cases WAY nicer, as with everything it just depends on what you are looking for. Our Subaru is a wonderful do everyging family car, My 350 well, not so much on the family car, but boy is it fun to drive :)
