  1. Hi again! Forgot to put this in the message I just posted. The first time I put gas in the car, I wasn't sure which grade to use so I bought the highest grade. I've since seen posts where others have asked and see that this car does not have to use what I put in. Is it going to be okay to start using the 87 or should I not mix them? I don't want to have to run it completely empty in order to use a different grade. I have always been real bad about running my car until the gas light comes on and then pushing my luck. Thankfully I've only run out once. I was recently the victim of an armed robbery and am very leery now about getting too low on gas and running out. Thanks again! Cindy
  2. Hi! As you can tell by the number of posts I have here, I am new so... would someone please tell me what OEM means? Also, I have asked this before but will ask again. I took my husband's Dodge to the repair shop a couple of days ago and asked if they worked on Lexus cars since I will be needing to do the 30,000 thing soon. They recommend changing the oil in it every 3,000 miles although the reply I got here and have read in posts says different. I just want to make sure I do all I can to take care of this vehicle since I'm sure I will have it for quite some time. On the subject of oil, what is dino oil? As much as I would like to change this myself, this is somethng I have never done and my husband just doesn't do anything auto related. Going by messages I've read on this forum, it sounds like some things can be done at home if I can get him to do it. Again, thanks so much for your help and/or suggestions in advance. Cindy
  3. Tom, Hi! Thanks for the heads up! I'll keep my fingers crossed. One more thing, would I be right in assuming N/C means no charge? They didn't ask for a CC number or how I wanted to pay for it so... I'll let you know which one I receive. Thanks and have a good evening! Cindy
  4. Tom, Hi again! I did as you suggested and called Lexus about the manual. They said I should receive it in 7 to 10 days so... I would also suggest to any others to just call them if you need one. Hopefully they will do something to make their website easier to navigate. Cindy
  5. JMorton, I had the same problem the other day. I called a dealer yesterday and they said the same thing about the lock button in the glove box which fixed the problem. I still don't understand how it got switched but.... He also said that if that didn't fix the problem, to open the rear door manually, make sure it opens all the way and then shut it. Since I didn't have to go that far, I can't say if it works or not. Hopefully you've gotten yours fixed. Cindy
  6. Thanks Tom! I'll call them tomorrow. Cindy
  7. Hi! I have been reading through the posts and saw one that said I could request an owner's manual from the Lexus website. I have registered my information and can not find the link I need in order to get a manual. Does anyone here know where they can direct me? Not too impressed with their website; I feel it is way too slow! Your help and time is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance! Cindy
  8. LEXIRX330, Hi! I know this is an old message but I just had to reply! I know exactly what you mean about others hitting your car. I do the same thing you do when I go somewhere which is park away from everyone else. Lots of times I will come out to find that someone (usually an old beat up car) has parked next to me anyway. Never have understood that one. I agree that others have no respect for other people's property. The way I see it is, it's MY car and if I want it dinged up, I'll do it myself. My father never allowed us to sit or lean on his cars and I suppose I have gotten this from him. I am the same way and wish others were. I appreciate what I have and always take care of anything I own. Rant over and thanks for listening! Cindy
  9. arens, Hi! Thanks so much for the response and your help. I will call the dealer today and ask about the rubber seal. Whoever had this car before me seems to have taken very good care of it. Hopefully they will replace it and if not, I'm sure I can do it; it sounds pretty simple. I just noticed it the other day and it's been bugging me ever since. As for changing the oil, not sure about that one! Like I said in the previous post, I always get the oil changed in the other car every 3K miles so I just assumed it was the same for all cars. Anyway... thanks again for taking the time to post. I was beginning to wonder if I would get a response! Have a great weekend. Cindy
  10. Hi! We recently bought a 2004 RX330 and I have looked through the huge owner's manual for an answer to my question. It's very possible I just missed it so I'm hoping someone here can help. When the gas light comes on, does anyone here know approximately how many miles I have left before I actually run out of gas? I am notorious for letting the gas light come on which I've been told I shouldn't do; I am trying to do better! Next question is on changing the oil. In our other car, I have always had it changed every 3000 miles. Does the same apply for this Lexus? I've read anywhere from 3000 to 5000 so wanted to get your opinions. Also, I was talking to a woman at a car dealership who's son also has one of these cars. She said he was charged almost $700.00 for an oil change which to me, is extremely high. I know it's a Lexus but... Last question; the rubber that runs around the top of the back window is messed up in a couple of places. Anyone know how much something like this will cost to be replaced or is it something that can be fixed? I know this is probably a dumb question but is something like this covered under the warranty? The car only has a little over 25,000 miles on it. That's all the questions I have for now. Am so glad to have found this forum even though I don't understand a lot of what I've read! I do appreicate your time and help on this. Thanks so much in advance. Cindy
  11. Hi to all! I am wanting to buy a RX 330 and am hoping to get some opinions from other owners here as to whether there are certain years to stay away from, any problems you may have had and so forth. My husband is concerned about us running into expensive repair problems which I understand. I have looked through the message board and have to admit it is a bit overwhelming as I know nothing about cars. I look forward to hearing from you and thanks so much in advance for your help and time. Sincerely, Cindy
