  1. So I have a similar problem with my brakes but it doesn't happen at highway speeds. I purchased the car last January and have had the car in to several dealers complaining of the problem, so far no results. The problem is that after the car has been sitting, usually 2-3 hours in the winter or overnight in the summer, and I start the car and being moving forward, if I apply the brakes there is an incredible metal on metal grinding noise and the car stops in a much greater distance than normal. After about a minute or two of normal driving the noise stops and everything is fine. There is no visible etching on the rotors, inside or out, and the pads look fine. I just returned from dropping it off at the dealer again, and they are going to "take the brake system apart to see if anything is obviously wrong." I don't suspect that they are going to find anything, and am wondering if this is something that anybody else has had problems with. I have driven several other es models and owned many other cars and never experienced anything like this. Thanks in advance for any ideas or comments.
