  1. I bought my auto car for 4k and the manual swap with a R154 was around 1100 cause i had to buy new hydraulics
  2. I dont think there is any screw you can turn to tighten the response, but rather work the whole steering system. One thing to start on is replacing the bushings with polyurethane or stock rubber depending on what you want. Suspension can change the oversteer/understeer of the car as well as giving you a different feel for steering. Oversteer is turning the wheel and having the back end come around while understeer is turning the wheel and the car doesnt follow. For example, when you go around a turn and slam on the brakes all of the weight shifts forward onto the front wheels and creates an oversteer, while stepping on the gas through a turn will shift weight backwards and create understeer. Nothing will wear abnormally if you drive it properly and never go over the speed limit, and always treat your car with kid-gloves. Otherwise, the tires would feel the brunt of the work probably. http://www.champcarworldseries.com/Tech/Understeer.asp
  3. How about the turbo inlet? Thats a big vaccum when its on boost :D
  4. www.photobucket.com Easy and free place to store pictures
  5. The optimum place for the intake feed will be where pressure is greatest that way you get more air into the intake. Most of the time, this will be where forward-most part of the car meets the air first and in this case, it SHOULD be on the bumper. I honestly dont know as i havent tested it on this car. By pulling it from outside the engine bay it will be colder, but you wouldnt get as much air into it if you would have pulled it from the point of the highest pressure. Let me know if thats not making any sense. You can use your K&N if you can fit it inside your stock air box and it make take some working, but it should work. Benefits would be having a heat shield around your intake. It shouldnt affect your aerodynamics unless you put a huge scoop under the car or on top of the hood.
  6. unless youre going for race ready, go with the Supra LSD. The 2-way becomes a pain in the !Removed! really fast for street driving. Not sure about the compatibility though as i thought the only Supra Diffs that would fit are from the JZA80 Auto
  7. I have a 91 Soarer with just under 100k miles with no problems. As long as you keep up in maintainance, you shouldnt have problems
  8. you have an old school mast antenna? thats wierd
  9. Its not always the case, but the BFI and Exhaust will net some good gains, just in different areas. Most of the Toyotas run really rich from the factory and when i put my S-AFC in i noticed a slight increase in fuel economy since i was putting less fuel into the mix
  10. You mean the blister kit? I have seen the rears on Yahoo Japan for 500 and rumors of the full kit are around 3-4k. Of course that includes replacements for almost every panel on the car
  11. If you could change the speed sensor output or intercept it coming out of the ECU then you could trick the dash into displaying MPH, but i have no idea how to do this or know of anyone that has. As far as the touchscreen/EMV(think thats what its called) if your car didnt come with it, you cant install it. You can put it in, but it wont have the same functions(if any) as it would from the factory.
  12. Youve been sitting there for five months and all you have to do is repin? All you need is the supra ecu diagram and the SC300 diagram. You are using the supra ECU to control it, or some kind of aftermarket management, right?
  13. Do you have image hosting like Photobucket?
  14. Someone has to make one in mainland. Vertex maybe? I only say that since that guy owns a Soarer for every day of the week. maybe Ms. Emerald will chime in?
  15. I like the Varis hood, but im not getting a body kit any time soon, so its not going to look right. I havent seen any carbon trunks, but im suprised that MeisterR doesnt make any or Vertex even.
  16. I dont think we're going to see 40-50 on the GE or the UZ. GTE is guarenteed to be that much which i will hopefully find out when i get my new front pipe and test pipe next week
  17. Planet Soarer has some info http://planetsoarer.com/autotrans/autotrans.htm
  18. Heres a page from the MKIV.com faqs: http://mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/
  19. Unless youre going to be doing racing or something where you will actually need to change your ride height and spring rate often, just get a good set of adjustable struts and good springs. Itll save you about $1k easy
  20. The LS400 upgrade is an upgrade, but the Supra TT 4-pots are a better buy. If youre going to upgrade, spend the extra $200 for the supra 4-pots. No way they are going to clear the 16" rims and some 17's.
  21. http://www.auto-acp.com/name/toyota/soare/~ex_ex.htm <--Varis Hood http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f24875436 <--MeisterR Hood There are some others, but its hard to get parts for a car thats not popular on Okinawa.
  22. For me to get a hood on Okinawa is around 1100 US. Shipping that hood to the states is another matter altogether. Never checked out how much that would be, but it would have to be DHL probably. There is one fedex office for the island and i dont know if they will accept a package that large. Ill post some pics if i can find em again.
  23. Because its a symbol. It only means something to people who care about having a "L" or a "T" on their car
  24. Usually i crank it once or twice, but it gets most of it out anyways
