  1. The tick, the clunk and the rattle. You're not carzy if you hear all of the above. The dealer I deal with confirmed that these are common complaint and a Lexus engineerer will be coming to the dealer to look at the problem this week. I live in Ontario where the current RX330 is beiing produced and it's only less than an hour drive from the assembly line to the dealer. They did not say if the ticking and the clunk are problems or not and there is no fix at this juncture. Regarding the dash rattle, there is a TSB out and they have already done a dozen of them already. I am so busy at this moment I'll have to wait till after christmas before I can go in to have the dash rattle fix. The origin of the rattle is similar to the RAV4 rattle. It's actually coming from the intake cowl.
  2. I share your pain. I had an ML320. The service record was about six inches thick by the time I trade it in for pennies. If you can wait i will wait a little bit longer before you buy the RX330. The one I have some early production problem like windshield rattle and a very faint engine rattle when the RX330 is under extreme load. I don't think you'll experince these problems if you wait a little bit longer. I had 3 toyotas and they were extremley reliable. One of the Toyota was a sienna which was a first month production and it too had a windshield rattle from day one. Six years later the Sienna is still running strong. They never fix the rattle unfortunately. I would have waited if the ML hadn't die on me three times on the highway.
  3. Is it a regular moonroof or a multipanel moonroof? I had the multipanel moonroof which rattles and have been reluctant to have it fix before a TSB come out.
  4. I have tried driving with the condensor and fan off and still have the buzz. Definitely load related because I have tried putting the car in 2nd gear so to keep the RPM at round constant 3000 driving slowly and there is no buzz. The buzz only comes on when you stomp on the gas and as the RPM reaches 3000 the buzz comes on and will be there until the gear shifts and the RPM drops.
  5. You're not alone. My RX330 will buzz when it's under load around 3000rpm. When the weather is cold there is less buzz and the buzz comes on at a higher RPM. The buzz sounds like a metal piece resonating. I am not sure where it is coming from either (my guess behind the dash or from the engine bay). The tech heard it but does not know where it is coming from therefore I have been reluctant to have it fix because the buzz is not very loud. The multi-panel moonroof have a loud rattle over bumps when half open. No TSB for the moonroof rattle and therefore again I have not ask the dealer to attempt fixing that rattle. The other thing I find is the drive by wire throttle is a little bit too sensitive for my taste. When I back off the gas I get a kick from the RX due to the engine retardation/braking. I have to be really smooth with the gas pedal to prevent that kick. I have fix both front seat squeaks by oiling the seat rail/bracket junction. Otherwise so far so good. Excellent gas mileage. Keep us posted. RX330 silver Multipanel moonroof Ontario Cananda
  6. Try the following car buyiing service http://www.metrocu.com/services/AutoBuy.html I was able to get couple of hundreds off the MRSP but the trade in for my piece of *#&^ ML320 was way too low, therefore I did not buy from the dealer they use. Mind you, sometimes you might need to pay a little bit more to buy from the dealer that you will be servicing your vehicle because if you have a problem they're more likely to help you if you buy the vehicle from them. In my case there was 3 dealer that I considered: DVP, Erin Mills and Oakville. I choose Erin Mills because of their service hours and recommendation from a neighbour. I paid MRSP but they give me a reasonable price for my use ML320.
