  1. Hey everyone, i have a 93 es300, there is a gas leak coming from a rusted metal gas line that goes up and over the tank from what i can see. Im guessing the meta tube connects to the top of the fuel pump or something, but i need to remove the gas tank to even see for sure. I dont know how to remove the gas tank except for the two straps, and the tank is on top of the exhaust which seems difficult to wiggle out from under the car. Does anyone know how to remove the gas tank, or what the metal tube might be? thanks!
  2. I have a 93 es300, i live in the burbs of chicago and its -20F right now! When its cold outside after i start my car and let it get warm, i'll press my brakes and my stop lights dont light up and i cant shift out of park "without puting a key in the shifter release hole". After awhile of driving, the switch will finally start working again and i can shift out of park. Untill tonight i didnt notice that my stop lights werent lighting up, so i thought to myself, thats why it wont shift out of park too, becuase the stop switch on the brake pedal must be getting stuck! This is dangerous becuase people behind me wont know that im stopping. Anyone have this problem when its cold out? or know where the switch is? thanks!
  3. ya that wasnt the oil pump, its the oil filter housing, and i replaced the o-ring and it solved the problem, now absolutly no oil leakage. Aslo did the seafoam afterwards in the intake through booster line and the car runs perfectly smoooooth!
  4. sweeet Safro.com, mcgrath rocks, and im a customer.. but ya, thanks i was able to take off that oil pump, after removing the y-pipe that was in the way, and the flat rubber o-ring looked fine "as shown below", but i ordered a new one for like 4 bucks and will be putting it in tomorrow. I hope it fixes the leak, otherwise i dont know what to do. Do i need to oil the O-ring before i put the oil pump back on the engine block? if the oil leak stops, im gonna seafoam through the brake booster vacuum tube for the first time!
  5. I have an oil leak on my 93 es that was dripping on the y pipe and smoking, so i went underneath my car andfound that the leak is coming out of the gasket in the housing for the oil filter, i called my local lexus dealer and the guy told me that the gasket is an O-ring, but on my car it doesnt look like an O-ring because the gasket is shaped to go around 3 bolts. Is that really the right gasket or where can i find one? So here is a picture of the gasket on my car, and a picture of the part that lexus faxed to me.
  6. i opened my headlights by heating the assembly in the oven on 300 degrees for like 10 minute intervals then slowly pry the pieces apart. if u are not very carefull u will crack the plastic and will have to get a new headlight. i did it n re sealed n still get moisture but not as bad.
