  1. Not sure of this but you said it is aftermarket. If it is wired into the headunit then you may have to turn on the aux on the main stereo to supply power to the unit. Try that.
  2. I've been fiddling with mine since I bought it a few weeks ago (2000 RX300). Here's what I've figured out: The time, average speed, and average mpg features are not tied to the odometer at all (a, b, or factory). The trip time automatically resets every time you start the engine. The average speed and average mpg are long term averages that do not reset when you turn the car on or off, but you can manually reset them (together, not individually) by holding down the display button when one of them is showing. Reset either one (ave spd or ave mpg) and both will reset. I haven't noticed whether resetting these also resets the trip time, but I don't much care about the trip time. I reset mine so I could measure our city mpg over the course of several weeks (17 btw). When we get it on the highway for the first time this weekend, we'll reset it to check the highway mpg. I may do the same again after I've cleaned the IACV to see if makes a noticable difference. If yours is holding steady at 19 even when you're on the highway, that's probably a very-long-term average. After you reset it, it will change by the moment, then the minute, then by the day, getting slower and slower to react to changes (hence my reset for highway driving). WoW... Excellent , clear answer... I was headed in that direction, but had not gotten to the reset question , let alone an answer. I tried to reset the Ave. MPG but could not. The owners manual of my 2004 RX330 said this is automatically reset after each fillup of the gas tank. The ave speed did reset as you suggested by holding down the info button for a second and that instruction was also in the owners manual.
  3. I am in the same situation with a 2004 RX330. There is no option I know of to change the information display. I have searched many forums for an answer to no avail. I called Lexus and they do not have a solution either. I think this is ridiculous, I had a 1998 Oldsmobile that with the push of a button I could switch back and forth from metric to imperial/English as much as I wanted. What is with Lexus?? There is a dash speed odometer replacement for the Lexus but this only gets you the numbers larger in KPH vs MPH and that’s it.
  4. I still many posts about the jerk or hesitation in the transmission. There is a service bulliten on this with a ROM upgrade that can fix this. I have a 2004 RX330 that I got in September with 32K miles on it. I too experienced the hesitation in shift. I have recently had the dealer do the upgrade, for free under warranty, and the problem is gone for now. It shifts so smooth and nice and the coasting is much better and I believe the gas mileage has ticked up a bit too. Everyone should look into this. All is just fine with this vehical for now and I would recomend it.
  5. Does any one know of a way to change the information display on the RX330 from English to metric? I am not talking about the odometer which I understand requires a complete console switch. I just want to see the information in kilometers per liter, current gas mileage/kilometers etc. I have had other vehicles that with the push of one button this information could be viewed wither in English or metric. I cannot believe that the Lexus cannot do this. I do not have a NAV system just the standard information display.
