  2. Hi, I have a 1995 es300 and I have been driving it for the past month and I have been receiving a smoky smell coming, I think, from the engine and into the inside of the car. I checked under the hood and it seems that there is no leakage of any sort. What do you guys think might be causing this smoky smell? Help is much appreciated, thanks!
  3. would u recommend any filter that u found to be better than the others?
  4. so....should i just try to not drive into huge puddles then? haha, wut size puddles are these...i mean realistically should i even worry about water getting into my engine? because on other forums they are saying like you that the bypass valve is not worth getting really and that also unless i try to drive through rivers it shouldnt be a problem. thanks!
  5. haha thanks...i guess ill jss put one on w/o a bypass valve cuz everyone is telling me its not necessary at all unless i wanna cross a swamp or a river, so thanks for all ur help guys!!
  6. thanks...i was also wondering though that if i do get one...does anyone kno the right size bypass valve is necessary? because on all the websites i've looked at...the bypass valve for this intake is either to be announced or simply not listed. from wut i know, the sizes go from 2.25 inches up to 3 inches. if anyone knows the right size, please let me know, thanks! actually, i just called aem and for those of yall who want to know..the guy said the aem bypass valve of 3 inches will fit the aem cai for the 94-96 model. aem called me again and another guy told me that the previous guy was actually wrong...he said they dont make any bypass valve for the cai for the 94-96 1mz-fe engine...so nm.
  7. hi, i just bought an aem cold air intake system for my 95 es300. i havent installed it yet, so i was wondering if yall think the aem bypass valve is a necessity? also, if it is a necessity, i read somewhere that to install the bypass valve you have to cut ur intake in two? and experiment with the right location of the bypass valve? thanks for all your help!
  8. thanks for all your help! i'll definitely look into it :)
  9. oh yeah, can any performance shop do the custom piping, and how much will it run me usually? thanks!
  10. thanks for the offer...but im still deciding whether or not i even want an exhaust and seeing if its worth it. im sorry to hear about ur car...but it sounds like u did ag reat job w/ it!
  11. yeah im just changing it for a small difference in sound and for the looks primarily jss cuz im bored haha
  12. im a newb at this kinda stuff, but here's a question: do you think it is worth it to get an apexi world sport universal muffler for the es300? is it worth the money? or should the es300 muffler better be kept as stock? THANKS!
  13. thanks alot guys for your advice; i'll try everything and see how it turns out! :)
  14. all the fluids have been changed regularly, and the car has been running pretty fine for the most part. doesnt the dogbone mount just hold the engine? or does it have other purposes? like how exactly does that piece cause the sound?
  15. yes my dog bone mount is broken....will that lead to the bumping?
  16. after I put the car in D, the car kinda jumped more than usual and then when I accelerate slowly and when it changes gears it jumps again and makes a thud sound
  17. Hey guys, I know nothing about cars, so I have a quick question. I drive a 95 es300 with 92,000 miles and when I accelerate slowly, the first and second gear give a jump to my car with a loud thump sound, but for the higher gears they dont make that sound. also, when i accelerate fast, the gears seem fine. and, the gear problem is also not just when i first start the car...it is throughout the whole day after i've been driving it for a while. please help!
  18. Thanks amf1932 I'll take your word for it and consider them. :)
  19. I found the spoiler on a site called spoilerdepot.com i don't know if they are a good company or not, but i thought the spoiler looked interesting and wanted to know how other people felt about it. here's the link for other pictures of it: http://www.spoilerdepot.com/Catalog.asp?A=...ModelTemp=&idB=
  20. here's a spoiler for a 92-96 es300. do you think it looks good or bad?
  21. I have 95 es300, and I wanted to red out my taillights. I read and got replies that I should just paint them, but I also read that you could buy some time of red transparent film or red tint that you could just stick over the amber portions. Would anyone recommend any specific type of red film or tint and if its a good idea to do them or not? any help would be greatly appreciated. i found this film on the 3M site, tho not sure if it would work. http://products3.3m.com/catalog/us/en001/m...ler/output_html
  22. Thanks guys for your help. I have a 12 inch audiobahn subwoofer that is 400 rms, and a Boss amp that if i remember correctly is 800 watts. I'm thinking it could definitely be overheating, because on the day it happened, and since i live in texas, it reached 107 degrees outside, and it never seems to have problems at night. So i'm definitely gonna take it to the shop to see if it is the amp, or maybe if it's the switch. Thanks so much for your help!! ibepuffin9
  23. I just had a subwoofer put in my 95 es300 about a month ago. I wanted to keep my stock headunit, so I decided to use a switch to turn the subwoofer on or off. Just recently though, the subwoofer fades in and out as I leave it on. It comes on strong, but after driving for maybe 10 minutes, it fades away, and then comes back on another 10 minutes later. Has anyone had this problem before and know how to fix it? Or could it just be a loose connection of the wires somewhere? Thanks! ibepuffin9
  24. thanks juan, i guess ill give it a shot this weekend if i have time. im gonna try to do the clear ones.
