  1. Man, have I been away for awhile; new format-wasn't sure I could even post. Been worrying about a Ford Model A !!! Anyway, on "Rides" last night this was done. 100 more HP and 2 pounds less--! Wild stuff. Tks--
  2. On page 29 of the Popular Mechanics Oct issue, a Gen 1 LS400 is shown going into a curve before-and-after a self contained electric front suspension by Bose was installed. Anyway--if you walk by a newstand !
  3. The same clouds affect the concrete, even the gravel !!!!
  4. You are doing it yourself in Adobe for the JPEG. At 72 pixels/in you are only getting 2 inches across with what you are doing. You should set the sizes to inches and set the width to 8 inches; whenever you have it at 150 pixels /in , then you need to set width at 5.5 inches. all this to fill in the screen but not to overflow most of the people with 800 x 600 settings. NOTE: you can send emails to yourself with the attached photos to see how they are doing. Also note that some websites automatically reduce the size of the attachments to reduce bytes. With the excessively large photos sent on this one--the webmasters may have done that recently.
  5. Would suggest OEM on pads(buy at Toyota, also price at irontoad.com ); maybe NAPA on rotors due to cost--smooth only--none of the fancy drilled and scored stuff. If you are "racing" that thing, then look at other threads and maybe Lextreme site. One thing no one talks about is 'dusting'--generally OEM anything do not dust; buy a $19.95 set at Advance and see what happens--black wheels most of the time. MetalMasters will eat up rotors.
  6. Front sus. fine ~~~~~ KYB struts-----soft floating went out with a '59 Cadillac !!!!
  7. What do you want THAT for???? unless it is almost FREE. I have a '93 Prem. system in my '93 w/CD changer[that is nice !!!]---and I have nothing to 'write home about'. ???????
  8. Would estimate that 90% of folks on this forum do not know how to add pictures as you did--your's truly included. Topic has been discussed but as yet I haven't understood it [and I have Photoshop, etc.etc]?? Also, when a photo is put in that is too wide(over 700 pixels is too wide), it makes 800 X 600 resolution folks steamed; the whole thread goes too wide. Suppose one could put photos in the gallery and then transfer-but that would be a 'double'; most folks do not have their own website from which to transfer JPEGS.
  9. Send a PM to WANDAWOODS ; he is in Atlanta.
  10. look for a guy with 13 gold teeth for a refund !!!!!!
  11. may help: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-7dTr93U1NzX/index.html
  12. comment: all you have to do is to type 'EGR' into Google; you will probably get at least 20 different professional and educational sites that will explain the whole process in detail. Google answers many questions. note: this is meant to be constructive. :P
  13. Comment: take your wife to a orthopedic X-ray place; my wife got hit and had to have a plate, 2 rods, and 4 screws put in her back. She was just fine after the wreck--no problem; Just started getting worse and worse; we now have a civil suit in progress. Aug a year ago; takes double( doubled by nerosurgeon last week-year anniv.) pain medicine every day. The symptoms will not show up for a while----DO NOT sign-off on the insurance company. pix is her $6500. rear-ender from a 2004 Lin.Towncar
  14. TKS--good job. I already did the Autozone hood strut job-just used the struts as an example. Get most all of my OEM stuff at irontoad.com and have been pleased. Seems like your dealer there survives on loaner car charges for folks awaiting major Lexus parts to be received; hard to imagine in a city as large and affluent as Reno. Let us all know the results of the strut job (haven't gone there; only did lower ball joints on the front); will be interesting to get more info. tks again~~~~~
  15. Good job on the fix !!!!! Maybe for clarification; did they cut the hose in half at the leak and install a crimping piece to connect these ends back together? OR, did they change the hose from one stock metal end to the other stock metal end? did they recrimp the original ends on the new hose??????? TKS for your help. I don't need one but always nice to find an inexpensive fix to counter the Lexus parts, etc. ~~~most of the time they make so it is almost imposible to substitute. ie: hood struts.
  16. The EGR pipe; replace it and the gaskets.
  17. You might go to OBUS seats--these are orthepedic [might even get Dr to perscribe]. We have 4 of these!!!! 2 stay in the F-150 and 1 stays in the Austin-Healey; I am currently sitting on one in the computer chair!!!! But have none in the LS. The cost is roughly $100. This is only one place, check the net if interested: http://www.sitincomfort.com/bacandsup.html
  18. you have drain hoses in each corner. check the front ones to see if they might be obstructed either at top or bottom. open roof and you should see them at the corners of front track, etc.

  21. Also on the Zone part: be sure you get the reservoir on top WITH the pump; some have got it w/o. Don't break the plastic 'speed-up' vacuum connection when you take the old one off; it goes back on the new pump~~break and it will be $100. But check all the threads on this and you will find out all the info. probably more here on the ps pump than anything.
  22. You will be able to see the 'flowing' bubbles yourself if present in the sight glass[which is on the rt side of the elec radiator fans-this is rt as sitting in car]; it is in the small pipe going to the condenser. You can add R134a yourself if it is low[buy a can and hose connection(this will be a kit) at a parts store; will only fit the suction side so you are OK there]; but purge the air from the hose before connecting to the car. read directions:charge with can connection UP. Watch until the bubbles clear up then QUIT. If you have no problem with the temp entering the car being warm, then do not do anything. If you don't have the slightest idea about air conditioning, then take it to a independent a/c shop--but watch them, should only do what I have said and nothing more.
  23. according to some threads here softness and low actuation is normal; you could type brakes into search.
  24. I have to direct WD-40 up at the hinge position, etc. about every 3 months so the brake will pop back up far enough to turn the light off. To clean good etc would probably would mean removing the dash !!!!!!--it is almost that tight.
  25. Note the "LS400" emblems(2 of these) are stick on; also the 'L' has 3 mounting holes.
