GS300Sport

hi guys Wonder if someone could help me please.. I recently bought a 93 ES300 for my son to use as i already have a GS300 and I love the brand. Problem is that i read up that the older Es model suffers from dreaded "sludge" which worried me as the car has 140k on the clock and it has a patchy service. I wanted to give the car a service myself and I thought i would take off the top cover of the engine and it looked pretty sludged up in there. So I have cleaned it all up and whilst performing an oil change i thought I would run some soapy hot water through the engine to give it a good clean.. and leave it to drain overnight, looks real clean now!! amazing :) I have topped it all up with oil and changed all the other parts (filter and plugs etc.) problem is now when I start the car she sounds rough as hell. Anyone know what could be the cause of why she is running so bad? Sounds like some tap dancing! thanks Johno!

Hi Guys I am wondering if I have a problem with my transmission on the 2000 GS300 Sport. 1. When rolling at about 15 mph then placing foot down there is a hestitation then kicks in (seems quite a common problem) 2. When the car changes from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th the transition of the gears seems slow.. almost like its slipping slightly. However when i pull away from standing still it pulls fine.. no slipping. Just seems the gear changes are slow and the engine revs very slightly. I have had the fluid changed.. no affect Does anyone have any suggestions to what it could be? many thanks

Couple of weeks ago I got Engine Fault code P1121= Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor/Range Performance. It was a persistant problem too. Reading a few threads around the net I come to the conclusion of the problem. I replaced the air filter, cleaned MAF sensor and Throttle Body and I have not had a single engine light on since. So if anyone ever gets P1121 = Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor/Range Performance code then that could be cause of the problem. The reason for this post was that out of all the threads i searched for never gave a definate result to the problem. So I wanted to log this for others :)

hi Error code turns out to be P1121 Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor/Range Performance. hmmm not sure what to do next.. dealers seems hesitant in giving a proper solution apart from replacing the throttle body (damn expensive) I am wondering if the throttle cable is the problem... when i pull the cable i have slight play.. as in i can pull it backwards and forwards. Should the cable be tight??

2000 GS300 Sport HI Wondering if anyone has had the following problems. I have the car booked into Lexus but itching to know what it could be before then. I started noticing when rolling down hills that when i applied the gas the tranny takes a second or two to pick up... then noticed each shift between gears was slow and slightly slippy. Then I have had 4 occasions where i have had the engine light come on and the car goes into limp mode. I also feel the engine is sluggish and very uneconomical when driving normally. When cruising at 40 and i take my foot off the gas pedel the car feels like it is in a much lower gear. regards
