  1. I've used both AMSOIL filter and specifically 0W30 series 2000 racing oil gives you more HP better MPG and saves money and time if you extend the change interval up to 12500 miles on the oil filter and 35000 miles on the oil. The company warranties it. It really works I've been doing that routine for almost 24 years on all my cars. I took an engine appart after 98000 miles with only 4 oil changes and all the parts measured to close to new specs no wear what so ever. So if that's not enough to convince you nothing will. Mobil 1 is fine but the base product is petroleum wear as Amsoil is not. They were the first to come out with it and are the industry leader in R/D with new and better products coming out all the time, just go to their web site and see it for yourself. Seeing is believing and what convinced me was using it.
  2. If you really want the best just use AMSOIL ATF which is Toyota compatible I've used it on all my Toyota products from the sienna, the avalon and two different GS400's and nothing is better out there.
  3. I specially like the Bosch platinum +4 , but iridium is also good. I've heard that 100k is possible with these, as long as you use a fuel additive to keep plugs carbon free. I use Amsoil PI gas additive PI stands for performance improver, it makes a difference even in extra MPG's. :)
  4. I disagree I think a spoiler is telling the world you got a fast car and gives it character. I have had both with and without. Generally girls go crazy for the spoiler while the spoilerless look is more for a mature sophisticated type person. (Old folk).
  5. WELL LET ME GIVE YOU GUYS A LITTLE BIT OF EDUCATION. I HAVE BEEN USING FOR 24 YEARS AMSOIL LUBRICANTS. IN FACT ALL MY LUBRICANTS INCLUDING GREASE; DIFFERENTIAL; TRANSMISSION; POWER STEERING; ENGINE ARE ALL AMSOIL SYNTHETIC SERIES 2000 0W30 AND WITH IT I GET 20MPG CITY 30 IN HIGHWAY. I ALSO USE THE AMSOIL OIL FILTER WHICH IS CALIBRATED TO FILTER DOWN TO 4 MICRONS AND LAST 12500 MILES OR ONE YEAR. THE OIL UPTO 35000 MILES OR TWO YEARS IS THE REGIMENT I USE. THEY ALSO HAVE AIR FILTERS AT A FRACTION OF WHAT A K&N COSTS AND IF YOU MAINTAIN IT COULD LAST A LIFETIME. THE COMPANY WARRANTS THEIR PRODUCT LIKE NO OTHER OIL COMPANY OUT THERE (INCLUDING MOBIL 1) AND THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO USE FIRST IN SYNTHETICS SINCE THEY WERE THE FIRST API APROOVED OIL IN THE US. I LIKED THE PRODUCTS SO MUCH THAT I BECAME A DEALER IF YOU WANT ANY FURTHER INFORMATION GO TO THEIR WEB SITE AMSOIL.COM TO SEE THAT THEY HAVE BEEN AROUND OVER 30 YEARS AND THEY MAKE VERY GOOD PRODUCTS. BY THE WAY IT ALSO GIVES YOU MORE HP AND BETTER 0-60 WITH WHAT EVER YOU'RE DRIVING, IMAGINE MY GS400 BELOW 6 SECONDS.
  6. I think I know what this weekend's project is going to be. Thanks for the response skperformance.
  7. I JUST BOUGHT A 99 GS 400 AND IT CAME WITH THE NORMAL GREEN/YELLOWISH ANTIFREEZE MIX. I THOUGHT THAT THESE CARS CAME WITH THE EXTENDED DRAIN TYPE RED TOYOTA ANTIFREEZE AND IF IT WAS MIXED WITH THE REGULAR GREEN ONE IT COULD CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE WHEN THE TWO WERE MIXED IT BECAME AN ACID AND TO BE ABLE TO DO THIS YOU WOULD HAVE TO FLUSH BEFORE CHANGING OVER FROM ONE TO THE OTHER. IF ANYONE KNOWS PLEASE INFORM ME.
  8. I bought my 2nd gs400 about a month ago and even after a very thoughrough inspection at the dealer I missed the following check spare and surrounding areas in the trunk for any rust in the corners which comes from any water and or condensation and if the spare has been used check condition of rim and tools should all be in their stirofoam holders. the front bucket seats move them all the way up forward and inspect the tracking also for rust and or any wear in the paint. In the engine compartment if you see any corrosion on the top of the screws of the strut towers or for that means in any part of the engine bay this vehicle was driven in the snow and it was not cleaned or maintained properly to avoid the rust that can build up. hope this helps.
