  1. Unless Edmunds got it totally wrong, it appears to me that the 09 RX will have a very good similarities to the current RX body style. If your car still fits your lifestyle and running fine, keeping it is very smart. Lots of people dump their 330's for 350's, same people will be dumping the 350's for the 09 body style. They'll find enough reason to change.
  2. I've seen some RX's being used for business. I know some realtors that use their RX to get custormers around. Updated map is essential to them. The cost to me is not worth it, but if you can pass it as business expense, it may not be too bad.
  3. Buy from the dealer and install it yourself. It's not cheap but atleast you know it'll work. The update disc only updates the map and POI's no added functions/features. It's about $300. Be careful with ebay if you wanna go that route. There's a $40 rebate going on right now at lexus-parts.com if you're interested.
  4. 04-06 RX's are pretty much the same cars, no major changes. Some owners still see issues from 04's on the 06's. They are minor by all means, but if you're out of warranty, they can be very expensive. I suggest you read up on this forum before you buy the car. I still think it's a solid car. Dealers have rising inventories of RX's right now, you can be aggressive with the price and get a good deal.
  5. The Service Dept. must be convinced that your car exhibit the problem before they apply the TSIB, and your VIN is included in the TSIB.
  6. I think my point was missed from the start. Obviously, you're not gonna gain any appreciable HP's on doubling your exhaust tips alone. Any car enthusiast knows that. Does it look sporty?? Absolutely!! That's why I could not see an RX with dual exhaust let alone 4 exhaust tips. It's just way out of character, I think it's plain funny. By the way, Lexus is not the only brand that markets dual exhaust to potray power and sportyness. ES350 6.8s to 60mph is sporty enough, dual exhaust nicely done...very nice to look at. I love my RX330, it's luxurious and comfortable. I would never customize my car and take it out of it's inherent character. But this is just my opinion. Peace!!
  7. Yes...ES350 is sportier than RX350. Is it too strange to you that vehicles with same exact engine will differ in performance? Engine is not the only factor. I'd spare you the details, just check the spec yourself. I'm not a dual exhaust hater on SUV's, in fact, I like the dual exhaust on MDX. It was nicely done. Having said that, RX300 is not sporty enough for me to get fitted with dual exhaust let alone a dual twin. Wait a minute, it might look better with dual triple tip exhaust. Can someone photochop that?? Peace!!
  8. RX300 stock lags behind the cars that you mentioned when it comes to performance/sportyness. There's a reason why RX don't come in dual exhaust, let alone twin dual exhaust. Yes, as long as the owner is happy, but he asks for honest opinion, now he is getting it. Peace.
  9. Trying to make your RX different from others is cool, but don't make it something that trully isn't. The RX is made for luxury/comfort. Sportyness and performance are not it's biggest attribute. Twin dual exhaust is overkill, it makes the car look rice'y and cheap. Just my opinion.
  10. That's just perfect for me. I'd rather poke around on my own terms. I'll approach the Salesperson if I need to. As long as they're helpful when I asked for assistance, that's all that matters!!
  11. Let me add my 2 cents quickly. Cost is not an issue from your post. Your only gripe about the RX are the turning radius (fixed) and styling. Styling is always in the eye of the beholder so if you think HL is better then HL gets a point on that battle. HL is for value+quality type buyer and RX for value+quality+pampering, IMO. I take that you're more into pampering based on your post so I think your car should be the RX. Good Luck!!
  12. For those who has the Dynamic Cruise, does it beep to let you know that you need to apply the brakes when someone infront of you slam their brakes? I find the dynamic cruise very useful on long trips following another car whose speeding. The system maintains the speed and distance from the car infront of me. It saved me from getting busted by Troopers.
  13. I had a female co-worker who got in a rollover accident with her Mom's RX300. She remembered the car being so smooth and couldn't tell she was speeding. She tried to avoid rear ending a car but hit another, lost control and eventually tipped over several times. The car was totalled of course. She did not give us time to visit her at the hospital, because she was back to work in 3 days with shoulder bruised, one leg on a cast and minor scratch on her face. When it came time for me to buy my first luxury SUV, of course I choose the RX. I was convinced the car will hold up well on accident. We still joke about her accident from time to time. :)
  14. If you bought your car CPO, there's a checklist that the dealer must go through in order to certify the car. My dealer gave me a copy of mine in PDF format. I'm sure if you ask your dealer they should be able to provide you with a copy. There's a Emission Control Test and Cat Converter item on the checklist.
