  1. Brian, I have a solution for the 2000 headunit to direct connect to an ipod. Leave your email or PM me. Hi DCFish, My 99 GS300 Pioneer headunit's backlight were all burned out (I can still read the channel info)! Is there any economical way to fix that? Please send info and quote to wahboy@hotmail.com. Could you please email me the solution to have the headunit directly connected to MP3 Player/IPOD? Thanks. wahboy As soon as I get home ;) Hello DCFish I have a 98 GS300 with a bad display. Can I also get the infor for replacing the display. Thanks dlddvega@verizon.net dlddvega@verizon.net
  2. SK What other signs would I see if the pistons are seized? Relaced pads and rotors and did not see any uneven wear. Thanks
  3. Check the Power steering fluid it may be low or you might have a leak in the P/S pressure hose Your rotors are warped and need to be replaced Forgot to mention that I replaced the brake pads and installed new rotors. Looking at the old pads they seemed to wear faily even. For my understanding, if the rotors are warped would I get a pulsating brake pedal when applying the brakes? Thanks for help
  4. Hello All, I have a 98 GS 300 whos steering wheel starts vibrating when I brake when going above 50mph. I replaced the lower ball joints for correcting the vibration when driving above 60mph. I also had the wheels balanced the car aligned front and back. I was thinking of trying the tie rods next. I want to give this car to my daughter, dont want her to freak out when braking. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
  5. Has anyone out there replaced the heater core on this model? Price quotes with heater core are anywhere from $1000 to $1300. I understand that the dashboard has to be removed to get to it. Anyone have detailed instructions on this. I am pretty handy with tools. Is this something your backyard mechanic can do? Appreciate your inputs Thanks
  6. Did some more searching through the forums and looks like it is a starter problem. These forums are great. Looks like the special tools I might need are a real long extension(24 -36in long) and a swivel socket. Not sure of the size I seen both 14mm and 16mm mentioned in other posts. Are there any other special tools that I might need or any other tips in removing the starter? Thanks
  7. My wife's 1998 GS300 died today, turned key no sounds. Tried to jump start it, but when I tried to connect the jumper cables the positive side would spark. Tried another known good battery and when I tried to attach the positive cable it also sparked and the engine tried to turn over with no key in it. Any clues out there. I figure this is going to be big bucks for the dealer to look at. Thanks Hopes it only a fuse?
