  1. I have a 2009 IS350. I was passing in 2nd gear and missed an upshift to 3rd. I thought I had shifted, but I guess I didn't. I may have hit the cruise control thinking it was the upshift paddle since I don't use the paddles that much. Anyway, the rpms went all the way to 8. The engine started vibrating or missing. I immediately backed off and realized that I was still in 2nd. The vibrating/shaking only lasted about 2 seconds. I have two questions: 1.) what was happening when the engine felt like it was missing or vibrating? 2.) Although it seems to run fine now, did I do any permanent damage to the engine?
  2. I've had my IS350 for a couple of months now. I only have about 2500 miles on it. The F-Sport intake and exhaust were put on at the dealership before it left the showroom floor. We revved it up to hear the new pipes before I drove off. All of the salesmen were coming out to look at it. One guy thought I had an IS-F by the way it sounded. I normally hear it when I am slowing down to turn in my driveway on my way home from work. That is after having it on the interstate under normal driving conditions. The transmission is in automatic mode.
  3. I just recently traded in my '08 250 for a new '09 350 with F-Sport intake and exhaust. I absolutely can't believe how much more power this car has over the 250. It is a lot of fun. Anyway, when coming to a stop, I sometimes notice what sounds like a soft backfire. It is by no means a traditional backfire that would wake the neighbors, but it is loud enough for me to hear the soft pop from inside the car with the windows rolled up. It it not consistent, but usually happens when it gears down from second to first. I've never had performance exhaust before. Is an occasional soft backfire-type sound normal with peformance exhaust? I hesitate to mention this to the dealer, even though everything is under warranty (I have 2500 miles on it). I don't want them tinkering around and messing up anything if they don't need to.
  4. Thanks. This does give me some ideas as to what it would look like. However, I was actually referring to a stock IS250 with all of the F-SPORT accessories installed rather than the ISF. The ISF wheels are a little different than the F-SPORT wheels.
  5. Hello all, I want to see what my matador red 2008 IS-250 would look like decked out in all of the F-SPORT options. In particular, I'd like to see what the F-SPORT wheels look like on the matador red. Has anyone seen any pictures? Thanks!
  6. I'm not a fan of clear bras. I had a 3M clear bra put on my 2005 RX 330 when it was new. The installation was great and the bra looked awesome for about two years. After you washed it, the bra would shine along with the rest of the car. I was very careful with the bra as to not get any wax on it or scratch it. I had the car for 3 and a half years and 60,000 miles before I got rid of it. By that time, the clear bra had developed a milky look to it. When I would wash it, it almost looked as if I forgot to wash the clear bra and the rest of the car shined like a new penny. It wasn't that bad and looked OK I guess, but I was starting to consider peeling the bra off. Now that I have a new 2008 IS 250, I think I'll skip the bra. I think I'll just try my luck with the paint chips. My suggestion is to pick the lesser of two evils - paint chips or a milky clear bra in 3-5 years.
