94 ES 300 with 274, 000 miles on it, and still going strong, mostly highway, but is still the reason I bought a newer one as well, only 80,000 miles on the 99.

Got my 99 last winter for $9700 with 78k miles, got my 94 in 1996 with 20k miles for $25,100. 94 has 256,000 miles on it now, worth every penny! :)

I have the exact same issue with a 99 ES. What did you search for on Ebay - Google for key words? Lexus dealers in Boston area all came up between $650 - 800. And the car is NOT drivable for over a week, because they DO remove the computer, send it out, have it reset and then have it sent back. 7 days minimum I was told by 3 different dealers. Any info you found would be awesome! Thanks!

u dont have a Trac control off bottom..?? wat year do u have? i think the TRAC/off buttom is located on the bottom of your steering wheel.... yea.. mine doesnt have a CD changer either.... only TAPE player... i m wondering do the 02+ ES came with a TAPE player..?? I have an 06 ES330 Loaner car right now.. has tape player and 6cd in-dash.

Okay, I have a 94 and a 99 -- 94 - only 2 minor complaints with that one was the Cupholders pop out from under the radio/heater and makes it hard to work radio/heater when cup in place. The 94 trunk lid open above the brake/taillights, not a huge opening. This was fixed completely in time for my 99. Also, the cupholder was moved to the center console in the 99, at first I was thrilled... then realized it was still kinda cheapy and broke easily. Definitely a better spot though! I would much rather have an actual opening in the center shifter area, preferably with a cover... same smooth look but more functional. Still for these MINOR things, I wouldnt trade to another brand!

Nope, its true. :cries: I have a 99 ES 300 with only one grey valet key. I have tried everything and have finally resorted to an after market alarm/keyless entry for way less. 3 different Lexus dealers in the Boston, MA area all said the actual first replacement of the computer was free, and their prices ranged... but: Labor was $99 - $139 Programming $46.50 Min of 2 master keys - $235 - $280 per key And here is the KICKER!!! The computer must be manually removed from the car and sent away for a new one to be programmed properly and sent back over a WEEK where the car is NOT drivable.. and they were very uncooperative about a loaner for a week... and at that point I was too tired to bother pushing, $700ish is too much for me to bother! I would be interested in getting info on the possibility of having a spare valet made off my valet, that will start the car. Is this possible?

Do they start the car as well? I am having an issue where I have a 99 ES300 and only a valet key. Dont want to spend the $600+ to replace the entire computer, labor, programming and minimum of 2 keys through a dealer. But would like to make a copy of my valet key as a spare just in case. My biggest question is whether you made your valet from a valet or a master key and whether it starts the car. Thanks!

OKay, an additional question... is is possible to get a spare made of the valet key? I have ONLY a valet key, would like a spare even of that, but not sure one will be able to start the engine since I have no master key. Any suggestions?

I actually have a 06 ES330 loaner in the garage as we speak, my 99 is in for electrical/fuse issues. Wow, I am being spoiled by this ride! I love my car, but I am not so sure I can return this one, amazing ride, comfort and speed.

Okay, further issues with this, and I am quickly losing my mind with all MA Lexus dealers... I have to have the computer replaced, for free, but they can not pre-order a computer, they have to physically remove the computer, order a new one, and it takes a minimum of one week to receive the new computer and, here is the kicker, THE CAR CAN NOT BE DRIVEN for the duration of that time... Seriously, could they make this any more difficult? Honestly, at this point I am looking for info on some after market keyless entry options that anyone may have and will just live with a valet key. I am a 20s female who lives and works long hours in a large city, the security of keyless entry is great, but not worth this hassle and inconvenience. Thanks in advance.

Thats what I thought... but even then, they are telling me that its untrue... only came with physical keys, no remote at all. Then again, unfortunately, this guy doesn't sound like he really knows what he is talking about.

Question.. I recently bought a 99 ES300 with only a Valet key... now I want to go through Lexus to get a new Master Key and Remote... which requires having the computer replaced (free the first time)... But now Lexus is telling me that the 99s did NOT come with keyless/remote entry, not even an option... now to be honest, I find that extremely hard to believe especially since I have a 94 that came with factory remote. Does anyone know if this is true... do you have a 99 that was purchased brand new with remote entry? Is it a button on the side of the Master Key (my 94 is) or a separate remote? Thanks!

On another note, it could be just a blown fuse, I have a 99 ES and this recently happened to me, the gas door and trunk lid opener were both not working suddenly. Fuse # 37 (25 amps) was blown, new fuse corrected it.

No, everything on the car is factory... and was in perfect condition, has not had any work needed ever on electrical system or anything else major recently (tires only). This morning I noticed that the doors wont lock while the car is on or key in ignition... I hit lock and it pops back to unlocked immediately. Hopefully on the same fuse and I just didn't realize it over the weekend.
