  1. This morning both by check engine and VSC lights came on. I took the car to Autozone and the tester said that P0420 code appeared twice. He sold me a bottle of Cataclean and told me to try that first. Any chance that will work? Should I reset the lights after using Cataclean or should it go off on its own? How do I reset the lights (remove power to the battery for a few hours or is there an easier way)? Am I safe driving the car around in the meantime? Any other suggestions? Anything else it could be or is that code pretty definitive as to what the issue is? Thanks in advance!
  2. Is the sparecarekeys.com link basically the same thing as Sewell's? That'll work, no?
  3. Ok. Thanks for all of the help. I guess that explains why I need a new key too. But it looks like this place here http://sparecarkeys.com/catalog/product_in...products_id=105 does cut the key free, if I provide the key code, do they not? That's only $45+$8 shipping. Can someone confirm that's all I'd need? I can't even tell if they key has a Lexus logo on the back though. I also saw a thread somewhere we someone said they did move their key over and glue it in. If that's going to just break or if it's going to be difficult to do, I probably wouldn't bother with that option. Also, isn't Sewell $77 cut, not the $125 you referenced? http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/parts_detail.asp?id=180654 Can't tell if there's a shipping charge. Code CLUBLEXUS still gets a 15% discount too. Is that what I need too? Still that seems to be the same item as my other link above. Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I get the right thing the first time.
  4. Why exactly do I need a new key cut? I can't just get the case like the link in my first post and move the key? I'm not sure I understand why that doesn't work. You ordered yours from a particular Lexus dealer, not Lexus corporate, right? So if I need that, the link in my 2nd post would be another option?
  5. What about the key itself? From reading around, seems like most people who are doing this are getting a new cut and have to get it cut. Why is that? Will the old key just go into the new shell and work? How does it get secured in there? I don't need this instead? http://sparecarkeys.com/catalog/product_in...products_id=105 I should be able to provide the factory key code, so N/C for the key cutting there, I guess.
  6. My key case cracked on my 2004 RX330. Can I just get a new case like here? http://www.dinodirect.com/LEXUS-3-Buttons-...l/AFFID-15.html Is it going to be easy for me to just pick apart the old case, put the insides back in the new case and screw together? Is that pretty much it? Any other suggestions or better places to get a new key case? I shouldn't need a whole new key, right? Or do I need one of these with the key (cut based on my VIN) and then transfer the electronics over?
  7. I'm getting CD Error 4 on my 2004 RX330. It happened once in a while and sometimes came back after turning the car off and back on. Now, it's stuck as Error 4. What are some things I can try to get this working again? Are there instructions anywhere for a manual eject? If there's really nothing I can do, can I at least get at the CD holder to remove my CDs? How hard is it to get in there? I'm not really looking to get it fixed (I saw on here that Lexus wants $800 or something) and I'm not even looking to put in a 3rd party CD player. I can live without the CDs for now, I just want to get my CDs out and maybe just try a few things that might have some sort of chance at getting this working again. Any ideas? Thanks!
  8. I have a 2004 Lexus RX330 and the cigarette lighter stopped working. Up until recently, when something was plugged in there, it had to be jiggled around a little to get it to work. The other day it stopped working entirely. Any suggestions on things I can check myself before I have to take it into a shop?
  9. Nevermind, false alarm. Either it didn't work because I was trying with the spare set while the car was charging on the other set or once I turned it off and back on it started working again.
  10. Left the dome light on in my RX330 last night and it wouldn't start. Got a jump and it started. Unfortunately, they wireless keys no longer work (both, so it's not the battery on them). Is there something I need to do to re-associate the wireless keys with the car?
  11. I didn't realize it would be such an expesive proposition to do this. $200 for the part and maybe another $50 for the install. Doesn't seem to be worth it. Probably better just getting a good BT headset. If anyone else has any other options, please feel free to share.
  12. I have a Motorola v550 and a 2005 Lexus RX330 (no built in bluetooth). What options do I have to install a hands free bluetooth setup in the car? I guess I'm looking for something that would play through the car speakers and I guess have a mic somewhere. Not sure how it would work, whether it would have to be hardwired somehow or maybe your RF and play through the radio? Are there 3rd party kits? Something from Motorola? Would Lexus install something (though that'd probably be the priciest option). Thanks in advance.
