  1. When I was in Europe I noticed that the few RXs that I saw, none of them had roof racks. I think that they are an option there and not automatically put on. The Europeans like things cleaner and neater as far as design. They don't get the cup holder thing either! When they drive, I had some pretty interesting taxi rdes in Italy, they are like on a race course, There is no time to sip or dawdle! Anyway, I don't like roof racks but I love my cup holder. I do understand that people ski and have bike racks but I don't do either so I have never missed that thing on the top of my pretty car. Oh, I now I have my nifty Harrier grill and emblem that I just put on. I love this car! Be well, Rey
  2. I think of the two, the blue and the regular "L". I really like the regular "L" for the front. The blue "L" looks nice on the back. Of course, I have neither!
  3. Ths is how you get rid of the message
  4. I know Kyle, I have already been asked, "what cool car is this?"..."Maserati SUV?"..."What is it?..." But then the other Lexus emblems are still on the car. The front lip also makes it look like it's a different car. I like that my car stands out a little. Anyway, here in Los Angeles there are a lot of nutty people like me so it's hard to stand out too much! Rey in burning L.A.
  5. Thanks cduluk, I can't wait to see what else you are going to do to your already amazing car! Rey
  6. Thanks so much for the nice notes...the grille is a piece of cake to replace, it literally took about ten minutes to take off the old one and put in the new. I think it was five screws. The grille came without the emblem so since I got the emblem first, I had it in the car for when I got the grille. It snapped into the opening and there is one little screw that keeps it in and that is on the backside. Voila, it was done! It's nothing like cduluc changing the color of the wood trim! Just go on ebay and look up " Lexus Thundercloud grille" or Harrier Grille. Then look up "Toyota Harrier Emblem". I posted the prices so that you can compare,,,reminder: My grille was $265 and the emblem was $75. Take care and happy driving, Rey
  7. I ordered and finally got my Harrier, or "Thundercloud" Grille. I saw one of these in Europe and really loved the grill and especially the Harrier "Hawk" emblem. I ordered them both separately, the grill for $265 on ebay and the emblem for about $75. I don't know if you can tell but the hawk is gold in an oval of chrome, very cool! Now that I have them, I love them. They add to the front end lip that I've had for a while and my RX 400h really looks nice to me. Happy trails, Rey in sunny L.A.
  8. Yes Tom, I can't wait to show you the new front end! I hope to get both the grill and the emblem ASAP. Both are from different places. I LOVE the Harrier hawk emblem. I saw one when I was in Europe and felt that I just had to have one. I also love the horizontal TC grille. Rey
  9. I still haven't been able to find those covers...hmm...Oh, I just ordered a thndercloud grille and a Harrier emblem!
  10. I know that we should look for everything ourselves...finding a thread,Etc. but when someone asks, can someone just answer the question? I looked at the thread that CDLUC wrote but it had a lot of stuff in it and I am not sure if the battery question was answered there...so let me ask this...or should I look for this too....should I just get a better battery before my 06 battery gives out? Just answer if you, anyone, knows...don't tell me to look at previous posts. I have a hard time looking for previous threads/posts anyway...it keeps telling me that I am doing something wrong. Thanks, Rey
  11. Thanks for the info, I hadn't thought about the message coming up for anything other than oil changes. OK, I'm off to Florence Italy now...Ciao, Rey
  12. Yes, I just did it, I got rid of the "Maintenance Required" message...don't get me worng, I am taking my 06 400h in next week for its 40K maintenance but until I can get over to my dealership, I wanted to get rid of the message. As the previous post mentioned, it was easy....I got into the car, put the key in but before I turned the key, I held down the Odometer Button...I had just made sure that it was on the ODO reading and not my trip meter A or B since I didn't want to reset my trip meter.....so as I pushed down on the ODO button, I turned the key to start and there was a countdown..like the voulume on your TV and the it went from "Maintenance Required" to "Complete"...voila, it was that easy. Now I can drive without being scolded until I can get over to Lexus in a few days. Rey

  14. Battery tender ey? I learn something every day! Thanks and I will have a great time away without worrying as much. It's a working holiday which makes it even nice for me. Thanks for all of the great responses. Rey in very hot L.A.
  15. I'm going to Florence, Italy for nine days and I don't have anyone to drive or start my 06 400h. I think that the manual says seven days is the limit but has anyone had to let their 400h sit unstarted for nine days?...two weeks, without losing the charge on the little battery? I feel that it should be OK but wanted advice. Thanks, Rey
  16. Thanks for the post. I guess I don't have the option to change to QWERTY on my 06 400h. Rey
  17. Mine makes those noises afterward and also when I start my car...is this normal as well? I figure that it is. Rey
  18. I think he meant me but I am sorry, I was just enjoying the topic but as usual, I made it sound like a big deal...I don't know when to stop! Anyway, I'll stop writing here and just pop in here and there and learn from all of you about this nifty car. I came across as defensive, maybe even offensive and I do apologize if I did. Take care. Rey in L.A.
  19. Sorry, I didn't mean to be defending anyone, I just liked the topic. It's hard to type thoughts out because it's not possible to see someone smiling as they are throwing in an opinion. I love this forum and everyone has always been really nice to me when I've had questions and I don't want to come across as a pest. My apologies. Happy trails, Rey in L.A.
  20. I always find it interesting how people use such extreme examples. I have my snow board rack attached all winter, its functional and it looks pretty slick too (IMO) lol. I think that we have to keep in mind that these vehicles do have the UV as part of there LUV name, they are not cars, pretty close but not. I'm not saying that we should enter a 4x4 rally, but many of us, do use these things in ways I would never my car, IE taking it up the mountain with roof racks and carriers attached, or pulling my sea doos in the summer. I personally think that the bull bar Cduluk went with looks pretty OK, definitely not bad... I mean if you had gone with the full BUSH bars that I see on some Fords and Chevy's in my neck of the woods, I'd be singing a different tune. It looks similar to many that I've seen on MB ML's and I think that the RX is arguably in the same class. I definitly don't think it looks out of place on it. My .02. Yes, I tend to be pretty extreme! Sorry...I either love something or I hate it. Roof rack? I hated it. Don't ski, don't camp...I haul a lot of anatomy/teaching stuff in the back though and that's why I have to have a vehicle that can carry a lot inside..... Many people on this forum have hated many of the things I added to my "Princess",it's fine....it's a lot of fun and it doesn't bother me. It's just a car...a NICE car, but in the big scheme of things, it's low on my priority list...but I sure LOVE having this great car and whatever anyone adds, takes off, etc. is fine, since the bottem line is, we have a GREAT car!...er, SUV..er,car,er...well, it's a neat vehicle. Be well, Rey in sunny L.A
  21. I felt that the roof rack was ugly for the reason that has been stated...it's a luxury car, am I supposed to throw a deer up there? My car looks so much nicer, sleeker and more luxurious without that ugly thing up there. See? we all have opinions and that's why I love seeing what people do with their cars. It's fun.... and to each his or her own! It's more of a "Guy Thing" to accessorize cars anyway....at least that's been my experience. My lady has an '05 ES 330 and she still has the dealer plate frame! But anyway, cduluk is young...it took me years to be able to have a luxury car...years of building my business...he's lucky to have an amazing car,an expensive car and be young as well! let him have his fun. Rey iin L.A.
  22. cduluk, I understand, it's just the look of it that you like. The same is true with the front lip that I got on mine...it's just the look of it that I liked. It doesn't do anything for the performance, it's an accessory...no big woop. As we have, or most have said, it's just personal preference and as you have said and I will add, it's about the engine, the machine, that is so great...everything else is just icing. You like the bull bar and some don't...no big woop...more power to ya! It's fun to dress the car up and make it your own. I get really nice complements on mine and people have thought, before the new 010 RX came out, that mine was the new version. They don't know that it's an 06! I keep my 400h sparkling clean and running like a top. It's the best machine I have ever owned. Happy trails cduluk....Rey in L.A.
  23. Hey, are your fog lights amber? I like that, did you do that? Is it an overlay? Anyway, the front bar looks fine and you are happy with it that's what matters. For me... I thought that the roof rack looked ugly so I took it off, and I love all of my emblems and chrome..... and I love the front lip that I put under the bumper....to each his ot her own! The bottom line is that you, all of us with 400hs have an amazing machine under whatever you or any of us puts on it or in it. Happy motoring! Rey
  24. I have Toyo Proxes S/T s ( two and a half years,25K miles) and they have been great with absolutely no rubbing or any problems. They are 255/55/18 and I think the 1/2" bigger size looks better. I make the adjustment when I calculate my MPGS and add 3%. This is the largest anyone should go though and when these wear out I will get Toyo Versado L/X or perhaps change to Bridgestone Alenzas or even another brand but I will keep the 255 size. Rey
  25. Ooh, sorry about the service. I for one have NEVER had better service than I get consistantly from my dealership in Glendale, CA.. They are always amazing...but ya know, each dealership is owned privately. But with a car such as Lexus NO dealershop should be less than stellar, it's just bad business and in times like now, no one should be delivering bad service. This has been another two-cent moment from Rey in L.A..
