  1. I think that my next tires will be Bridgestone Ecopia HL 422. 235/55/19". It must be said that I live in L.A. so weather is not an issue here...very little rain, nice year round. I was looking at Pirelli Scorpion Verde but I was talked out of it or any Pirelli tire. I don't need tires for another year though. But I do like to research way beforehand on anything. My last RX was a 2006 RX400h and the best tires that I had on that were Yokohama Parada Spec X...they were fabulous. Hope this helps...there was already a topic on this...see earlier post...at this time it is still on this page. Rey in L.A. Aug 2013
  2. I am leaning now towards the Verdes.....
  3. Anyone have Bridgestone Ecopia HL 422? I have a 2010 RX350,19"...after the OEM Dunlops are done I am leaning towards this tire. On my 2006 RX400h the last tires that I bought were great, Yokohama Parada SpecX (18"). I also had Toyo STs...(or something like that). For the 19" tries that I have now, I am tempted to try something new. But it won't be for about a year yet so if any of you can tell me what you think of your Bridgestone Ecopia HL 422s, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Rey in LA. Now I have been reading about the Pirelli Scorpion Verde....looks like a perfect tire for me here in L.A.
  4. Yes. always show a photo or something...I think that you mean the INSIDE part that butts up against the privacy, pull screen. It's the section that you do not generally see because it is attached to the hatch at the bottom of the rear window. The reason that I know the part is that I hit it once and it came loose. Anyway, no, I don't know the part number. Rey in Sunny LA
  5. Yes, I really love this car. I was just thinking that this morning here in LA...the weather was perfect...my car is just...so nice! I LOVE the "mouse" for the nav.....I will have to get that again no matter what car I get after this...maybe my third RX? Happy trails, Rey
  6. I don't know about where you live but here in LA the Toyota dealership does not fare well compared to the amazing Lexus dealership, Glendale Lexus....I love going to the nice Lexus dealership....plus the fact is, I have the Lexus Visa card. I use it to pay for every fill up...many purchases and because of the rewards, I usually pay nothing or very little to get my service. I did not pay a single cent on my last ,(30K, service and wash) ..plus now that I do not have a hybrid, I don't ask for a loaner so I go to the nice diner on the next block! Having the Lexus rewards Visa is great. Just my two cents. I like luxury even at a dealership. Rey in LA
  7. That was it! Thanks.....Rey
  8. I haven't been able to find anything about this ...let me tell you what I see on my GPS....there are dots along routes even when I have not set any destination. They are numerous small dots along streets and freeways....what is that? Anyone? Anyone else have this? 2010 RX350.....don't know what GPS version that I have....Rey in LA.
  9. Thanks for all of your input. It's the end of the year (2012), I've had my fabulous 2010 RX350 for five months and I get 19.7 combined.
  10. I definitely love this generation RX...I was never crazy about the Gen 2 400h....I love this 2010...and the mouse for my GPS is great...I really like that feature quite a bit, I hated the dirty screen...I could not keep that clean...I love not having to touch the screen now and I work the mouse really well now that I am used to it. Happy trails! Rey
  11. The initial pull forward from a dead stop is so nice with the 350...but on the freeway, when I can go fast, the 400h is amazing and much faster once it is going. I miss the CVT but am fine with the 350. I am getting a combined 19.7 MPG w my 350 as opposed to 24.5 w my old 400h.....I just love the RX line so I will have this one for about 3 years and see what the 2017 RX is like. The 400h I had for 6 years so I did see me getting my money's worth w gas savings. Rey
  12. I don't even own a cell phone so I feel happy with this GPS...I have never felt comfortable getting around here in LA or anywhere...so this technology has been fabulous and I appreciate what I HAVE rather than what I DON'T. Thanks for the help....happy driving...Rey
  13. Thanks so much...I got it on my GPS now...mostly I just like the icon...although, today going to the Getty Center...which if you aren't familiar with LA, is on the 405...the busiest freeway in the country....it did tell me "Stop and Go Traffic for the Next Six Miles..." so I took off the freeway option and drove on the streets instead...so I like it....people often complain here about the GPS but I don't know any different so I have always been quite happy with both RX's (06 400h, '10 350) and the GPSes....I guess I just don't complain about most things...life's too short......Rey in Sunny LA...even in December.....
  14. I loved this info...I had NEVER had my mirrors set up this way and it has made a big difference now that I have adjusted as explained. I feel a lot better in LA traffic because of this post, thanks, Rey in LA
  15. I got a preowned 2010 rx350...for a while I still had the traffic info on my GPS...I guess the person that had the car before me paid for this? If so, how much is it per month...how does that work? Thanks, Rey in sunny LA...yes, even in November......
  16. I can do that without pressing the brake...I know that my 400h was faster...I never intended to sound like I didn't know that...it's just here in LA we have the 110 freeway built in 1939 and you really have to peel out to get on it...the 400h was mushy...this one is NOT ever mushy....after that it doesn't matter since LA freeways are jammed up most of the time so I wasn't using the freeway power that I had with my 400h. With this 2010rx350 I had to learn to barely touch the gas so as to not pounce like a cat.....I was very happy with my 400h....but this one feels better....I did have the 400h for 7 years so it's not like I don't know the car for Pete's sake. No one else agrees that at the start this one pounces? It really feels great. I think that I better get off this forum now...sorry guys, I didn't mean to upset anyone. Thanks for all of the help in the past , be well. Please, no more charts...none of that means much to me..I am a simple person, I know what I feel and this 350 feels great...not mushy...at the START.....from a dead start the 400h was...well, MUSHY. I can't explain it.....The post started as to which one to get...I just gave an opinion since I have owned both.....good bye. Rey
  17. I was disappointed in that decision as well...I don't need that emergency gizmo...anyway, I am thinking of buying a box or something to keep in that weird space under the center console...what has anyone done with that space? Rey in LA
  18. Thanks, that's all that I was saying...it's like buying shoes. I feel lucky to have had both...BUT, they can test all they want, they don't have them for 7 years and live with them....but I think we might be beating this dead horse. The 350 feels more fun to drive to me...non expert consumer. I was surprised when I first got it as a loaner and felt like..."why doesn't my 400h feel this great to drive?".....I will keep this car for another three or four years and I will more than likely get another RX..."550h" , non h...whatever they have out at that time...I LOVE these RXs! I need the large space back there and th RXs have a lot of space! Happy motoring, Rey in LA
  19. Yes, I did say "In my opinion" I love the RX350 better....I am going from personal experience not reviews...the reviews are usually from individuals that have not owned BOTH cars...like I have . I was very happy with my beautiful 400h...but ........ I do love the torque, the immediate pull of the "regular" drive train of this 350. I am still stuck on 22mpgs but it's still less than a month old (I mean, I have only had it that long...) ...also....I have been running the air a lot...it's been a hot summer here in L.A. 2012! The engine is so quiet on the 350, the 400h was sounding too loud to me, louder than most cars that I have owned....I do miss when the engine would shut off though...but, no regrets, I am LOVING this car and driving it around. Lemon...I did drive a new 450h..but it felt the same as my 400h...."Mushy" from a dead start. The CVT is nice but felt like it was whining too long especially up the long hill to my home...it would have a weird pulsating loud sound... ...anyway, I am glad to have had it and now I am glad to have this one. Rey
  20. I just bought a 2010 RX350 (23K miles) after having my fabulous 2006 400h. After 6 1/2 years I was getting around 24MPG overall and was happy with my beautiful hybrid...But...but after getting the RX350 a couple of times as a loaner....it's hard to explain but I really loved the drive much better. Weirdly, the motor is actually quieter! Obviously not when the electric mode is on...I know it's still early but I am getting 22 combined MPGs...so really I am only losing 2 MPGs and I have two more gallons (19.2)..so I go about as far. My new RX350 has a nifty "Eco" gauge that lets you see if you are driving economically and it is in fact easy for me to drive keeping it in the green all of the time. I also love the "miles to go" before fueling readout. The one thing that I enjoy a lot is the "mouse" for my Nav system. I am loving that more and more now that my fingers know where to go without looking down like when I had the loaner and didn't have time to get that muscle memory. Anyway, I got a good amount for my 400h, it had 74K miles on it...so it was an easy sell, it was gorgeous...and because I got a 2010 RX350 (Non hybrid), the price of the two was closer to one another....so I was able to just buy it outright. I liked my 400h a lot but never really LOVED it...this car I am loving and it feels so great. It can peel out...so I have to get used to the fact that it is responsive out of the gate and careful NOT to peel out! I do miss the CVT...but not that much. It felt mushy from a dead start. But both cars are the tops........so, 350? 450h? Like I heard someone say once on a sports show...debating whether you would want Joe DiMaggio or Ted Williams on your team....after a few debatable points...one man finally said it best and ended the debate, "Pick either and you are the winner". Happy motoring from L.A., Rey
  21. 73,74 mph?...what's that? I live in LA! Actually on my nice, lovely Sunday mornings to work, I too can drive 70+..... Thanks for the nice replies..this is such a great forum. I really want to get a 2010-12 RX350 before the year is out....there are many dealerships clearing them out for the shnazzy new 2013s. Rey in LA.....
  22. Maryan, I just noticed that you are in CA...I am in the LA area and for this area the hybrid is PERFECT...since you get stuck in traffic, you don't get to do much "Highway" driving....I know, I should stick with the hybrid...but I miss the immediate "peel out" like feel of the 350....it really pulls you back into the seat! Rey in LA
  23. I am in the same dilemma...I have had my amazing 2006 400h for almost 7 years,,,but I really like the way the 350 feels when I drive it...I often get it as a loaner. I am leaning towards getting a 2011 12 maybe even a new 13 RX350...drive them both. If gas mileage is a big deal to you...the "h" of course...not that it's not a concern for me...but the cost difference from 350 to 450h is considerable. If you plan on keeping the 450h for over five years....get it. Other than that...really, drive both. I believe that either way, you win! Congratulations...on having such a nice mate! Let us know what you get. Rey in LA
  24. So, any of you...at what point, miles , do you fill up? 330? 350? Rey...again....
  25. Great info , this helps a lot. The 350 has a 2 G larger tank so it helps to have it go closer to the same distance per tank...but I can go 400 miles before filling up now (I just gassed up...396 miles/ 16.0 gallons..I don't trust the in board computer,24.6 MPG) ...I am thinking that you are going maybe 350 miles before gassing up each tank? Thanks, I am still looking but feel the need to go back to a "Regular" driving car and I do love the 350...and....I am NOT considering any other brand. Rey in LA
