  1. Where and how can I get sulfer damage assesed? Should I try fuel injector cleaner? Should I take the car to Lexus dealer?. Does any one knows a good and reliable mechanic in Birmingham Alabama? Thanks SPS
  2. Thanks for your thoughts. Since you said, I now remember when the car goes dead a yellow check engine light comes on along with a red signal for engine not running. I don't know it has any significance? SPS
  3. Hello everybody, I have a LS 400 98 with 77,000 miles. It is a great car. Recently I started having this trouble; not always but off and on the car will go dead when it is stopped at red light or in heavy traffic. I took it to Toyota dealer and they could not figure it out since it never happenened to them when they test drived it. Initially I thought it was a due to shell gas I was using. Switched to diferent brand the problem disappeared but to come back today again. The car starts right back up without problem and also I have replaced the battery few months ago, so this does not seems to be problem. To me it sounds like some debris is clogging the fuel injector or something??. Any suggestions Thanks SPS
  4. Actually I just got mine serviced from a Toyota dealer. I was told this car has radiant plugs which do not require replacement till 100,000 miles and same for the timing belt unless there is a problem. I am quite happy with what was done and it cost me only $ 400.00. I would certainly check a good toyota dealer as was suggested to me on this forum. Thanks SPS
  5. Thank you all for the comments. The clicking seems to be coming from the engine under the hood. My wife said it is a loose belt?. I will try toyota dealer tommorow. I will appreciate any more comments and advice. Thanks
  6. Hi, I bought the car 2 years ago and so far have changed the oil and filters regularly. I have also replaced 3 tires. I am quite pleased with the car so far. Recently I noticed a clicking sound when I first start the car. Also there is high pitch squicking when I press the breaks while backing out from the driveway. My question is what all I need to get done. I cannot do car service myself. Should I go to lexus dealer (how much they will charge?). Please advice. Thanks
