  1. My '92 LS is exibiting this annoying pulsing at about 60mph while the cruise control is set, instead of smoothly managing the speed as it does at higher speed settings. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this to occur.
  2. I just thought of something that someone else brought up a while back on another thread that had to do with the valet key being used and the use of that key governing the car down so it would drive docile. I don't know if that even is true or not but just a thought. I have never used my valet key. If it is possible, maybe that program in holding back your car.
  3. I have the same problem with my '92 and would like a new one as well. Anybody with a cross reference guide out there. Fortunately where I live it is starting to get cold and the mirror operates normally when the interior of the car is cool, and, same goes for my telescoping steering wheel.
  4. My '92 started doing the same thing except the radio also cut out until I released the brake. Then it came back on. I had some recent service and had them check the battery too. It was marginal as the alt. was fine. I noted that this only started happening recently and after I had driven the car for about five minutes it would stop doing this wierd little electrical adventure. I reasoned this is because I had a good alternator that would recharge the battery just enough that when it was called upon it would provide the charge current required for short periods with a load on it, but those little hot wired items we have on are cars just zap a weak battery after it sat for an overnight let's say. My car would start fine but exibit that weak battery for a few miles. Interesting. Anyway, I think someone else on here also noted that they have never had a battery last more that 3 years and I would second that. I don't thing I have had one last more that 2.5.
  5. Thanks Wandawoods, I did reference your piece when I was trying to find out if I could diagnose this and it was helpful but, again, I have the no telescoping problem. My tilt works fine, as are the gears and teeth.
  6. Folks I need some help. My '92 LS is great but starting to show it's age. My particular gripe right now is the steering column will tilt up and down properly but it will not telescope in and out anymore and it's retracted all the way in making for uncomfortable driving. I can hear a relay "click" when I move the switch but that is it. I also have found the relay box under the dash from feeling the "click" in the box. What can I try? What are my options? One phenomena that I have noticed is it works in the cold of winter but as soon as it warms up it quits.
  7. Thank you for the link, but it appears this is for a tilt problem. Tell me if I am wrong but reading through it, it appears that way to me. My problem is the in-out telescoping has failed. I can tilt my wheel all day but the telescoping function just gives me a "clicking" sound. Could I need a new motor?
  8. My problem has finally irritated me enough to do something about it. I have discovered that during the winter months it actually works as it should but during the hot summer months it's not at all. My tilt function works properly. I used to be able to hit the steering wheel once or twice and it would telescope when needed but now that doesn't even work and I just hear it "click" inside when I operate the toggle switch. Does someone have a diy procedure on the board here to possibly fix my telescoping wheel problem. Thanks in advance for any help. Jim
