  1. My LS400 got towed to shop. There was smoke from glove compartment area and car won't start. My mechanic found out ECU (engine control unit) and wire are burnt. He said I am looking at around $2K for repair. What would cause this problem? If you had same problem and had repair done, let me know. Last 20K mile has been like hell. 1. cracked egr pipe changed. 2. power steering pump changed. 3. driver side window motor changed. 4. alternator changed. 5. leaking air suspensions changed to four new regular shocks. Now burnt ECU and wire-hardness. :( Do you have these problems too?
  2. This happened twice in last two weeks. In the morning on the way to work, after driving around 500 feet, smoke came from passenger side glove compartment area. Turned off ignition and turned on again and no smoke. Car runs fine except power steering wheel feels heavy. All electrical seems working fine. Let me know if know what is going on. Thanks.
  3. I live in South Bay Area, San Jose. If you know Suspension shop who works on LS400 Air suspension conversion, let me know. I am going to buy Strutmaster suspension conversion kit, and I going to take it to local shop. Thanks.
  4. When I shift gear to R-N-D from PARK position, gear feels sticky and hard to select gear position. I like to find out how to fix this problem. 94' LS400 120K miles
  5. First time posting in this wonderful forum. I bought mine two days ago, after loosing one last month from accident. I noticed yesterday when parked with engine off, both rear suspension looks too high and ugly. :( Mine has High/Normal option, I set switch at Normal position. I'm wondering my rear is defective or is this normal. Can someone measure distance between center of the wheel to center edge of the both front and rear of the fender and let me know? Thanks for help. 1994 LS400, 102K miles.
  6. Heater valve is leaking engine coolant. This part cost around $128 at the dealer. I was wondering this part can be fixed. Let me know if you had this problem fixed. 94 LS400 103K miles
