Hello again gang, Has anyone changed their shift knob, and if so does anyone recommend a brand or model where the knob sits down all the way to the boot? Im looking for more or less the stock look, but every damn knob I buy ends up looking like a freaking truck stick. The knobs fit really high up (even thought they look good) and u can see the bar which is disgusting... Also, I wonder how much the stock knob costs in the dealer? Does any one know? Also, is there an aftermarket knob for our stick sc's? Mine is kinda faded, it has served its purpose n needs change. But with this crap out there I rather keep my beat up knob ;)

Theodore: Great, glad ur stuff is workin .....Im in the process of doin mine..only difference wont have 6 1/2 in the deck (never thought about it and bought 4, 4" Fosgates) but oh well, ill live...i just know my mids arent going to be as good as they can be.... Anyhow, quick question: which Pioneer Free air model did u use and how much/where di u buy it? Also, how much modifications did u have to make to make that bad boy fit? Last....did u use the stock head unit; and if so, does the head unit have RCA outputs, or is it strictly wire outputs....thanks!

Hello guys, Was wondering if anyone knew whether or not stock head unit in premier system have RCA output for speakers. If so, does it have it for all speakers? Im about to install two amps with some speakers in the Lex so if anyone knows please let me know ASAP. I have one amp that is strictly RCA and I need to know whether or not I have to end up buying another amp with regular cable connections..... Thanks!

PS Im going to take my car to install stereo professionaly....these cars are to complicated to elctro noobs like me.....they are only charging me about 120 for 2 amps with all the wiring and stuff, so I rather pay it and forget about headaches THanks!

OK, I F'd something up playing electrician with my Lex-Mobile.... Are there any other fuses that work with the radio besides the regular 7.5 to 30 amp puses that can be visually checked inside the motor well? I was messing with my stereo system, I removed my sub-amp and was following a wiring diagram I found on the net for sc's, but that thing was all wrong....anyhow, the radio was working fine still, but the sub wasnt ofcourse...but all of a suden I must have grounded one of those cables andburned something out but cant figure out which fuse it was.....now my radio, antena, and auto telescopic wheel dont work....the telescopic wheel works if I mess with the controls but it doesnt work automatically with ignition.....the radio is dead, power antena, too.....ANY ideas of what I may have friend please let me know, as I said...its none of the regular fuses under the hood that can be checked.... Can it be one of those square fuses or a sonlenoid? wtf!!!!!1 Lexus electrical systems are so freaking complicated

I want to do a relatively small sound upgrade and I need to know a few things---hopefully someone knows how to make this happen, or whether or not this can be done...ill try to make this as simple as possible....here it goes... I know theres a sub-amp that powers SUB speaker. My idea is to disconnect that sub amp, cut the input wires, and re-route them to a new amp, thus eventually powering up 2 10's in the trunk. Im wondering if I can safely use the REMOTE, 12V, and Ground, as well as the SUB'S input cables to connect the other amp. If I can do this, great, this means all I have to do is remove the back deack where the rear speakers are! So how the F*** do u take off the back seat to take off that board? I was looking at the seat and I could figure it out...didnt want to start breaking stuff u know... Now, if my idea cant be done (using the wires that connected to sub-amp to power new amp), this means I would have to re route every cable into this new amp.... My question is, how can I get a remote wire (Ignition 12 V) to power my amp. I wouldnt want to use 12 V direct for both 12 V and Remote cos then the amp would be on all the time. Another option is creating a switch for the amp, but who wants to flick switches to turn on an amp u know.....so were can I get a Remote/Ignition signal from? And yes, pkease dont forget to tell me how to take off that damn seat!! Anyways, rag tops are nasty, the color has to go, those rims are ugly, that L in the back window is ghetto, and the whole back seats taken as speaker air is just ridiculous...its like a cartoon characters car hahahah :chairshot:

Im gonna drop some new speakers inot my ride and was wondering if anyone knew exactly how many watts the stock Premium amp kicked. I dont want to shake the world upside down but I did buy a pretty darn good Punch speaker (10") thats gonna need some decent juice to get it going. So I was wondering if anyone knew what the channel of the sub was kicking, as well as the rest of the 5 speakers. Any info appreciated thanks!

HELL NO!! NO TEST DRIVE, NO DEAL!!! Hes ripping you dude, who knows why he doesnt want u to test drive... I bought a 95 sc with 75K for 9,000 You need to shop arround, that car is in pieces for that price.... Offer people the money, whatever it is that youre willing to payfor it. Even if the seller is 3k above your max offer.....dont be afraid to offer, you never know who needs the money! Offer away.....when they ask for 10,000 offer 7,000 who cares, the worst they can tell you is no....give them your number and tell them to call u back if they change their mind....thats how I got my sc!! good luck!!

If your seats are not cracking u may not need to redo ur seats. if the leather is just hard buy this leather conditioner called LEXOL... they usually sell it in saddle shops but im sure u can find it on the net. This stuff is awesome and after a few treatments you will see an awsome imporvement. Also, never use armorall on leather. this is a common mistake many make and it ends up drying the leather, and thus messing up the interior. If the leather is cracked and nasty then I guess you will have to redo your seats. Another option is to go to a good auto upholstery shop and have them replace only the bad leather for new matching leather. Ive done this before and the seats look great. This happened when for some reason my seat desided to rip just in one little place under my leg. I guess from pressing the clutch so much. So I got that little square changed for $200 and problem solved. THese guys carry a lot of different tone sof leather and can match perfectly if your seats are not aboused. Well, either way good luck! PS Katzkin makes really good stuff. You cant go wrong but get ready to pay the piper

For a good sc 300 5 speed 97, not ragged out...hmmm...I say you should expect to pay a good 15K at least.... yes 97 has passenger airbags... mine is a 95 and it was in great condition when I bought it with 80K miles... I paid 10,000 but I got an awesome deal because the owner needed to sell fast cos he was moving to Brazil,........ If you have the cash dont be afraid to offer 3 to 4 thousand dollars under what the person is asking for.... you never know if the seller really needs the money and would say screw it....and sells it to you... Thats how I got mine for so cheap...actually I didnt even pay 10,000...I got it for 9,000....plus taxes and tags and stuff...the guy that sold it to me was originally asking 14,000 for it, and I kept bugging the guy until I convinced him....he, he, he.... Hey this quest is for AWJ... How much did you pay for your Turbo at Toyomoto? How long did it take for them to install or did u install yourself? Have u had any problems with your car because of the Turbo? I.e. oil leaks, dab idling, rough engine, etc... thanks!

ok, lets make this very simple... If you want to change ur speakers go to the speakers, take them off, then buy exactly what you need, THEN put them on.... There, I untangled everything B)

Look through the faq which is pinned at the top of this forum..... they have detailed instructions on how to make your old headlamps look new again... as far as the light itself dimming it must be your lightbulb..mine started doing that on the left side and eventually burned out so they must be close to dying on you... but yeah, for the headlamps I recommend you fix them yourself cos new headlights are good $$$ but if ya dont care then call your local lex dealer! :D

My clutch isnt stiff but who knows, maybe it will get stiff someday...how many miles? Mine just reached 100k

One more thing I forgot to ask....once you put these eibach springs....do you need a chamber kit? If so, how much is that if anyone knows... This probably has been asked before but when i do a search I get a bunch of posts with completely unrelated info... Anywho..., I am looking to buy new exahust for my car...I still want the dual but something that looks a little better, or should I say, looks more "aggressive" (like those dudes in auto shops say). I also want like a little growl to it but nothing too loud or nothing that sounds like a 4 cylinder or bike... but a nice little grrrrrllll would be nice.... So if you guys have exaust what do you recommend that would be the best and cheapest...also, do you know any good places where I can buy them? Any info greatly appreciated! PS-Also can anyone give me the name of a store (prefebly online) where I can get those eiback springs? thanks 95 sc 5spd ;)

I definitely agree about the 5 speed SC...... I love this damn car...nothing better than being all wrapped up in fine leather, and having this super smooth stick luxury car.........maaan........I wish I had a turbo though, that is the ultimate dream! The other day I got on the xpressway and raced one of those pesky mazda 6's, the new ones with the cheap dual exhaust.....i hit 138 mph and left that trash in the dust...nothing but a little dot on my rearview! Could not deal with the power or suspension..........and I could have gone faster but I was going so fast that it felt like I was driving on a street full of sharp curves so I didnt wanna kill myself B) BTW going over 100mph is a felony offense This message will self destruct in T-5 seconds

Well..its true...economy is bad....people are holding on to their precious $$ harder than ever, Saddam suxs... and what else....yes, there are other alternatives out there, which may not be as refined and exclusive as our valued lexes, but that can offer a fun ride as well... I beleive Lexus should definitely reconsider its pricing and give me a call as soon as they drop about 20gs.........maybe then Ill buy a new Lex! But I gotta say...even thought its old, I love my 95 sc 300 5-speed! :)

Well....sad to say that the rotor was not the problem....my car still doing the same thing........what the hell is going on??? Who knows...I guess I'll have to wait until the car breaks down and leaves me stranded! :o
