  1. I would call at least three other Lexus dealerships to see if their prices are the same. If it is a standard factory backed extended warrenty it won't matter which dealership you purchase it from, they will all have to honor it.
  2. Can someone provide information on how to remove the carpet on the tailgate so I can get to the screws that will allow me to change a blown tail light? I have tried to remove it and ripped the backside of one corner. The manual says take it to the dealer but I don't want to pay them $120 to change out a stupid tail light. Thanks for the help.
  3. I normally take my 2000 LX470 to the Toyota every 5,000 miles but to the Lexus dealer for the mile stone services (30,000 & 60,000). The last time that we visited the Toyota dealership I asked about the cost to replace the timing belt and it was $20.00 cheaper at the Lexus dealership. They both insist that we have the belt changed at the 90,000 mile service session. Also Jim is right about the height control oil. I tried to order this fluid from the Toyota dealer and they had no clue of what I was talking about. If you go to the Toyota dealer for service please advise them not to fill the AHC reservoir.
  4. I visited Price Leblanc Lexus (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) yesterday to test drive the GS300 & 430 but they didn't have a 430 on the lot. Told the sales rep. that I am planning to purchase one next summer. He told me that I may want to wait because the new 2005 models will be arriving in July of 2004 and it will look nothing like the current models. He also said that there will be a luxury GS300/430 and a sport GS300/430. The reason for having both he said was because some customers that wanted the GS430 horse power but didn't like the firm ride and some that like the sportier version cars wanted a more responsive handling feel, ala BMW 500 series. Therefore Lexus will soften the ride in the Luxury version and attempt to make the steering more driver involve friendly.
  5. Does anyone out there have a full nose mask on your LX470 or have seen an LX470 with an nose mask on it? Down here in south Louisiana we have two seasons on "love bugs" which does tremendous damage to paint jobs. I have priced the mask and it cost $173.00 with tax. Spoke with a sales consultant at my Lexus dealer and he mentioned a new clear mask called "digishield". The only problem is that this new mask cost $1100.00. Have anyone ever hear of or used "digishield"?
