  1. Yeah, $320 is way high. All the shops pretty much use the same high-quality stuff (Titanium or something like that) that lasts forever if installed properly. I think I payed about $180 for mine, and about the same for my '92 Integra 6 years ago (and still looks perfect).
  2. I'm sorry, I thought you said the Audi S4 was in the same price range as the IS300? That's an awfully wide price range, unless you're referring to older models.
  3. Personally, I'd stay away from used cars, especially at this price level. Even though IS300's are great cars, if you can't afford the extra $$$ for a new one, consider looking at some of your other options in your price range, you may be surprised at what you can get for your money. Used cars usually have unforseen problems, and rarely do you get lucky and get a granny-mobile that's well taken care of. The guy even told you he drives it hard, meaning there's a high probability he didn't take very good care of it either (oil, maintenance, brakes, tires, etc.). Just my 2 cents :).
  4. "Drifting" caught my attention too (went to the D1GP in Irwindale last weekend), but I _do_ have an IS300.
  5. OK, well those came from the Lexus website, so seems to be accurate and believable. Nice find ;). I'm curious what exactly is on that new center console by the e-brake, as well as the 2 new buttons on the sound system. Other than that, it looks identical though, and still the same I6 3.0.
  6. Whoah, you're getting a bit ahead of yourself on the supercharger, considering this is your first car(!). Is it automatic or manual? What do you mean by nice system, a sound system?
  7. Yeah, styling is lame, but an IS330 would be cool.
  8. I just installed a custom box with two JL 10's (with a JL 250/1 amp). I actually have a large amount of trunk space left (more air space=more bass), I can take some pics if you'd like to see what you can make for your box. Although you're using 12s, so you'll have to recalculate the box size to get the optimum sound, you should still be able to save a lot of trunk space if you do it right.
  9. Where did you hear it's the best? Do you know of any websites with reviews? I'm lazy... :P
  10. I'm in Los Angeles, so completely different market, but I can give you some pointers. Do as much research online as you can first. Then print out all the prices you get from various sites, ie. the Lexus site, Edmunds, MSN Autos, etc. etc. Go to as many dealers as you can to see which ones you like and treat you well. I'm sure we'd all like to believe all Lexus dealers are fantastic, but I found a few that treated me like I was a nuisance (ie. I was buying their cheapest car, so they'd rather cater to the rich guy buying the SC430). Use the prices you get at each dealer against one another and see who'll give you the lowest price + best service. If you're getting financing through LFS, I don't think it really matters which dealer you go through (or it shouldn't at least). You maybe don't have to necessarily go to each dealer if they are far away from you, you could just call them and haggle over the phone with them. I got a good quote over the phone from one dealer (Glendale Lexus), and went into another (Longo Lexus, the biggest Lexus dealer in the US) and just told them the price they quoted me. Without even verifying, they said they'd match it. Anyway, good luck.
  11. omg, whoever would buy that is a tool :chairshot:
  12. Jeez, no one else has any input on this? This board seems pretty dead, or at least a lot of lurkers... Now thinking more about it, I may be interested in a full suspension system instead of just the springs. I guess I could call my dealer, but does anyone know off-hand details about the stock IS300 suspension? basically I think all I want to know is if it is adjustable so that if I do decide to get only springs, I can adjust so that I don't have offset camber and a poor ride. thanks anyone. And if anyone can recommend a full suspension system, I'm all ears.
  13. I guess this is more of a poll than a question, but I'd like to know what people out there have done in regards to changing springs (ie. Eibach), how much you've dropped it, and what you've noticed as far as ride and ground clearance (I have a steep driveway :( ). Every time I look at my car's profile, I feel like it could use about one-half to a full inch drop, but I'm hesitant about how it will affect my cornering, ride, etc. etc. Thanks for your input!
  14. Damn, I haven't noticed any paint problems yet with my '03 (had it about 9 months now), but I've always washed it by hand. Is it something that generally only happens with getting it washed at an actual carwash?
